"This hotel was amazing, and the staff were fantastic. My partner and I had been staying at another hotel nearby, but I'd accidentally booked the wrong dates and we were short one night. So we ended up booking somewhere last minute, and we were already having a rough day, having to pack everything up and move. The moment we arrived, though, everything turned around. The staff were incredibly helpful, and even though our room wasn't ready yet (we'd booked and shown up barely five minutes later!), they upgraded us to another room so we could head up, take a shower, and reset after all the chaos. The room was gorgeous, and the bathtub was exactly what I needed to relax after such a stressful day. Honestly, the rooms look even better in person than in the photos. A special thank you to the reception staff, who went above and beyond to make our last day in Venice so special. I'd absolutely recommend this place to anyone."

"My husband grew up in the neighborhood so we have been staying at Hotel Santa Marina for many years. We got a suite this time and my son and his wife stayed in a junior suite. We always go back because it’s a comfortable, old world Venetian hotel. Staff are helpful. Feels like home."

"I just had an incredibly terrible conversation with a representative of the hotel. I called internationally to see if I could have my call connected to my parents’ room. He explained their privacy policy which I understand. I stated that I was not asking for their room number or anything, just didn’t know if there was a way that he, as operator according to the phone call, could transfer my call. He stated no and I thanked him. My husband suggested that maybe what I should have asked is if I can leave a message for them. I called back. It was the same gentleman. I stated that I had just called and I was wondering if there was an option to leave a message. He repeated the privacy info again. I said I don’t need any information. I have their names, I am not asking their names, I just wanted to see if leaving them a message for them to call their daughter was possible. He rudely said with a grunt I don’t understand why you don’t have WhatsApp to leave a message, it’s 2025 (which actually it’s 2026) - I started to say, their phone location and everything turned off and they were supposed to be there three hours ago, but I got up to turned off, and he grunted again mumbled something that sounded like ridiculous and hung up/slammed the phone down on me. I could hear the hang up, not a disconnect. I hope my elderly parents who have had the worst travel experience so far with everything set up for them cancelling and them having to find their own way in a foreign country, actually found their own way, and that when they get to this hotel they were very excited about, that their customer service experience is better than what I just encountered. 😔"
