Villa del Sole

"My husband and I stayed 3 nights and it was a great place to stay before beginning our 10 day exploration of Umbria. This boutique hotel is in a great location. Being at the edge of a park you have the best of both worlds with greenery around you and great views of the city. It is only a five minute walk to the main square, Piazza del Campo. We stayed in room 1 which has 5 windows with great views from each. There were so many details that made our stay here wonderful. They have a cold water dispenser where you can fill up your water bottles as well as carafes to take to your room which has a mini fridge. They also have an electric tea kettle along with assorted teas near the breakfast area so you can make tea any time of the day. A jar of cookies are nearby as well. You can bring your own wine or snacks to sit out on the outside patio in the evenings or order something from the hotel. The menu is limited but offered high quality choices. We ordered a charcuterie plate and wine and it was very good and reasonably priced. It was a great place to relax at the end of a day or have coffee in the morning to enjoy the beautiful view. Breakfast was not a huge spread but was quite good and, upon request, Claudio will gladly fix you eggs to order. I also appreciated the great hair dryer they had. We booked transportation from Florence Airport to the hotel which was fast and a bit pricey but allowed us to avoid the cost of parking a rental and was well worth the convenience in lieu of train or bus transfer. Siena is a hilly but quite walkable city with many fine restaurants and sites to see. Our visit was definitely enhanced by our stay at this remarkably well run hotel with a friendly and efficient staff that always made us feel welcomed. Would not hesitate to stay here again."

"Wonderful stay at this villa. This was our second stay here, and it did not disappoint. Nice, large rooms and a very nice breakfast. There is a drum school across the street and you will have to put up with drumming in the late afternoon for a few hours. Other than that, we would recommend this place."

"This is the second time we have stayed at the Villa and weren’t disappointed. This is a wonderful bed and breakfast a short walk from the town center. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, and there were many little extras that made our stay enjoyable and relaxing. Their terrace overlooking Siena is an added treat. In fact, they have wine available for purchase to drink on the terrace. The owner helped us plan a daytrip to drive in Val d’ Orcia. We could not have done as much or seen such beautiful countryside without his suggestions Siena changed its parking rules just prior to our visit and we had to park outside the city walls for one night. The Villa was extremely helpful in getting us to the nearest parking area and how to avoid any fines based on the city’s new regulations. This B&B is a true gem. You won’t go wrong staying at Villa del Sole."
