"The location is perfect for travellers with a car, the hotel has a huge parking lot. The walking distance to the old center gate is 10 minutes. The rooms are not recently renovated but they were clean, air conditioning working perfectly. We handled the communication and check in with Alia, she is fluent in English also if you don’t speak Italian. She very friendly and responsive to requests. Hotel Stipino is a very good choice for a city trip to Lucca!"

"I’d advise you not to use this hotel. Years ago it was good but the current owner is unhelpful. Having paid for 3 nights B&B we were told breakfast was 4 to 5 minutes walk at a little bar. We were allowed one coffee and one croissant. We talked to the guy and said we were not happy but just got a shrug and refusal to do anything. The room was poor and bathroom shabby. We had to ask for toilet paper and one day the room was not serviced. I give one point for being in the right place and having private parking. My advice is to go elsewhere."

"Friendly, very clean, and family run, by mama and her two daughters! I cannot say enough about this gem. The youngest daughter even went to the bank with us to be our translator! Nothing is too much for these lovely ladies! Lovely garden patio to enjoy a beer or glass of wine and just relax after waking about the ancient city only a short walk away. Oh did tell you there is ample parking and the small bar? We stayed for three weeks (why move?) Thank you to our hostesses you made our stay so wonderful!"
