Palazzo Montebello

"Our stay at Palazzo Montebello was very disappointing. The room was in poor condition and clearly not maintained to the standard expected at this price point. The bedroom floor was buckling, the walls were dirty, and the bathroom grout was crumbling. The toilet creaked and felt unstable enough that we were genuinely concerned it might break when used. The shower enclosure had an odd set of dual bi-fold doors that had to be positioned exactly right; otherwise, water flooded the bathroom and spread onto the bedroom floor. Housekeeping and routine maintenance were lacking throughout the stay. Nothing felt properly cleaned or inspected, and several issues affected basic usability and safety. The WiFi was also poor and unreliable, which made even basic online tasks frustrating. Staff interactions were equally disappointing; several team members came across as rude or dismissive rather than helpful. Even the location was not a real advantage. It required a long walk to reach the main attractions, so it was less convenient than we expected. Overall, the condition of the room, inadequate cleaning, unreliable internet, unwelcoming service, and inconvenient location made this a poor value. I would not stay here again or recommend this hotel. For perspective, we have traveled to Europe approximately 15 times, Italy 12 times, Florence 6 times. I understand the quirks of older properties and European properties in general and can tell you that this property is not in that category but instead in the category of a poorly maintained over advertised tourist trap that is not worth near the money charged."

"Mobeena Inam we came from Australia to visit Florence, it is a beautiful city, but we stayed at Palazzo Montebello and I was really disappointed. Zero services, rude staff. We were mistreated, they do not know how to talk to customers. Zero satisfaction, high prices. On 10/06/2026 that night it was cold and I am a 50-year-old woman and it was me and my husband. I was cold in the evening and I asked a staff member, can you bring me a blanket, and they told me to go and get it myself from the reception. The next day, I went to the bathroom to take a shower. There wasn't even any shampoo and the bathroom wasn't clean, and since breakfast was included in the reservation, my husband wanted a fried egg and they told me to pay extra for the egg. In the evening they didn't give us a blanket and in the morning they didn't give us eggs. I would advise against going, not because they didn't give me eggs or a blanket or other things, but if we have already paid, why do we pay more for an unpleasant service."

"Worst customer service ever the front desk gave us a room we did not book 😣we booked a king room which we paid more for and when we challenged them on it they got rude and belligerent told us we paid for what we got which was two very single beds pushed together that barely made a queen expedia website sells the rooms as doubled queen or king and when we pointed it out they gave us the room two days after we booked in also the location kinda sucks it’s to far away from most of the historical areas we stayed in three other hotels across Italy and this was the absolute worst for customer service and experience"
