Hotel Cimabue

"Nice reception staff, lovely breakfast and rooms perfectly nice. But don’t stay here if a light sleeper. The windows don’t block out any noise from outside and they are neighbours with a restaurant (where you eat breakfast) which has an outdoor courtyard of which our room was facing. We couldn’t sleep until midnight until the last diners left, very noisy. There is no reception staff after 10pm either, and the hotel is like a rabbit Warren hard to find your way around and one of the doors slammed closed on us in morning and we were told we should use a night code (given to us upon entry) which we hadn’t expect to use in the morning (0900am). A short walk to main sights and in a quieter area. 18 minutes to main train station. TV didn’t work in our room, and the noise would put me off staying again. On a budget then go for it - but pack earplugs."

"The rooms of this hotel sit against the road. My advance request for a quiet upper level room was ignored. Instead I was given a street level corner room. It felt like cars were rolling from the cobblestone into my window throughout the night. The internet and cell coverage in the room and cafe were also very weak. The front door is locked after hours and extremely hard to open unless you punch the code in really hard (a fact we did not know - we were stranded for 30 minutes trying to get in and no one answered the after hour phone number. The breakfast was cozy, food was fine, and the staff in the cafe were great."

"An inexpensive and well-run hotel. Friendly staff at desk and breakfast. The kettle and tea/coffee making facilities were most welcome."
