Albatros Hotel Siracusa

"Try to get a room on the street level, in the back, that lead to the pool.. the pool is beautiful and big with lots of lounge chairs around it.. it was a nice place to rest.. the hotel is about 10mins to the city so it is in a calmer place.. it provides lots of parking the breakfast buffet was ample and complete the only little irritant is that you could run out of hot water especially in the late afternoon when a lot of people use it"

"My friend and I were on holiday and she bought this travel via agence “lastminute”. From 22 till 29 September 2024 we occupied room 201 in this hotel "Albatros" in Syracusa. POSITIVE side: good bathroom, beds, air conditioning, and good friendly working staff, they changed towels and made the bed every day.THANK YOU... NEGATIVE side: there is a complete lack of objective and reliable information. 1-location of the hotel in the middle of a large field, where there are no shops, cafes or take away etc at all. 2-access to the hotel ONLY by car or taxi! That is, we didn’t have a driver's license and extra money for a taxi (£20 one way). We can't walk to the town center, because there are high-speed roads and along them there are no pedestrian sidewalks at all. (risk of accident). renting bicycles is not an option for those who have not used them for a long time. And we are 55+ that is, walking for more one hour in the heat is impossible. So we were forced stay in the hotel our entire holiday. Small swimming pool (for children, depth 1.30m) with cold clean water, all the exercise gim are working, but it was impossible to be in this area because attack of a lot of wasps, mosquitoes, flies. In our room there is no balcony and a place to dry towels, swimsuits, no microwave oven for cooking and no free coffee and miniral water. At first there were several bags of tea that were not brought after at all. In the hotel there was only breakfast (not have service to lunch and dinner). breakfast with a poor choice. There is nothing hot (porridge, omelet, beans, sausages, bacon) no vegetables. If you come to breakfast around 10 am (closing time) you might not even get a sandwich. The TV had only one music channel. We not found an English news channel. Wi-Fi doesn’t work around/ outside the hotel. It was too borring time and too muny problems in this hotel. Most photos of webside not true. In endid, they charged us a tourist tax of £20 yet. FOR WHAT? For get mostly stress and a ruined terrible holiday. I am upset of lost money, the price does not match the quality. I am surprised why the hotel has 4 stars. I won’t give my recommend to stay in this hotel for holiday, just for transit over night."

"This hotel was unfortunately a disappointment. It is located in a very dull area. There are no restaurants nearby. The ones in the area are neither pleasant nor offer good food. One must travel all the way to Syracuse to eat, either by car or paying for a taxi, which is very expensive. It would cost 35 euros one way for the four of us, and the car ride takes about 12 minutes. Moreover, the hotel is very run down. The rooms are worn out and feel unclean. The first room we got was not properly cleaned and had mold in the shower and a hair in the bed. We switched to a cleaner room, but it still wasn't the standard expected of a 4-star hotel. The hotel also does not have a restaurant, and breakfast consists of dry bread, cookies, fruit, and yogurt. Given that there are no nearby restaurants, it's odd that the hotel doesn't offer dinner or lunch. The pool area is okay. The pool is shallow but clean. Decent sun loungers, but no cushions. What is called a "kids' play area" is essentially just a small plastic house on a lawn, nothing more. The only positive is that the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They tried their best, but the facilities and the area, unfortunately, do not meet the standard."
