Acacia Marina

"A lovely hotel in a convenient spot for the beach and the small town. Two good sized swimming pools with plenty of sun loungers. Excellent choice at breakfast, good coffee, plenty of pastries, cereals, fruit etc. Large room with balcony, well stocked bathroom and king size bed. Very attentitive cleaning staff. The only down side were the unhelpful reception staff. They are front of house and the first impressions of a hotel eminate from the reception staff. A little extra training is required."

"Location of hotel excellent. The room was nice and the hotel well designed. The staff within all areas of hotel were friendly, polite and professional. They added to our lovely holiday with their pleasant approach. The atmosphere was great for myself and husband. We felt it was good value for money and would go back."

"We stayed in the Acacia Marina part of the hotel, the Acacia Palace is newer, and we stayed here for one night. The rooms in the Palace far exceed those in the Marina. Marina rooms have no natural lighting. A small courtyard outside with a table and chairs is contained with a topiary potted fence that blocks all light to the room. Without this people would be able to look straight into the bedroom. The outside area is worn and dusty. Some have a washing line to allow you to dry swimming costumes, ours did not. The beds are comfortable; you are provisioned with a room safe and a small fridge but no plates or cutlery if you are on B&B. The bedroom has a large lamp, omitting little light, with smaller bedside table lamps. You will be getting ready to go out for the evening in a dimly lit room with very few power sockets. Take a multi plug and European adaptor if you need sockets. The bathroom is functional but again run down and tired, the walls have been poorly painted and not cut in on the joins. The toilet roll holder requires you to twist 120 degrees behind you to reach it. The shower tray did not drain properly unless you reduced the water flow and it was cracked. I would say the rooms are a 3 star UK budget equivalent. The pools at the hotel are good, the infinity pool is a good size and for over 12s only. We did not experience any issues with getting a sun lounger and the hotel supply towels. The restaurant is ok for breakfast with a station for freshly cooked eggs. We ate once there for an evening meal and it was terrible. Buffet food they seem unable to keep warm at a steep price. You are better off going into the piazza for a meal. The staff are hit and miss. There’s one really smiley chap on reception who was really helpful and an older guy and women who were less so. Outside the hotel to the right, approximately 100 meters away, you will find a well-stocked local supermarket where you can pick up some drinks and food at a reasonable price. The hotel is in a good location, walkable to the piazza but nice and quiet in the evening. Local beach is clean and not rammed. Local food is cheap in the restaurants, but drinks are more expensive. A pint of Peroni = 4.50 and a cocktail about 9.00."
