Seafront escape with access to private beach
A classic Mediterranean establishment on the east coast of Sicily, The Hellenia Yachting Hotel specialises in getaways that tend to reside more on the laid-back side of things. Did we mention there’s a private beach, too?
The hotel’s centrepiece is undoubtedly its outdoor pool – it’s surrounded by sun loungers and boasts sweeping sea views to accompany your afternoon dip. Two bars – poolside and indoors – also means you’re never far from your favourite cocktail either. Ready for even more relaxation? Head to the hotel spa, which features a Turkish bath, whirlpool and an array of head-to-toe treatments that are all designed to rejuvenate your mind and body.
The picturesque coastal town of Naxos, meanwhile, is just a five-minute taxi ride away. Located along a wide bay with the famous mountain peaks of Taormina as a picture-perfect backdrop, you could spend many an hour ambling along its seafront, occasionally stopping at a bar or two along the way. The beaches are the main attractions here, alongside the historic Castello di Schisò – an ancient fortress that is now open to the public.
Back at the hotel, staff are more than happy to advise of the best excursions to take around Sicily. Highlights include a visit to Etna – the largest active volcano in Europe – in eastern Sicily and scenic treks around Alcantara River Park.
