Scenic Sicilian Retreat
Situated on the outskirts of Caltagirone, the NH Caltagirone Villa San Mauro enjoys a panoramic view of the Sicilian countryside. Plus, it's just a five-minute drive from the historic city centre, a UNESCO heritage site famous for handmade pottery and the rich Baroque architecture.
The 91 hotel rooms are decorated in an elegant and traditional style, each with air conditioning, plush bathrobes and tea and coffee making facilities. Some rooms have balconies, including Junior Suites, which offer spectacular views of the old city of Caltagirone.
The restaurant, Il Borgo Calatini, offers refined flavours, serving Sicilian cuisine as well as delicious Mediterranean tastes. All dishes are prepared with care and creativity, and served by friendly and professional staff, always ready to recommend wines or recipes. The bar is a stylish and comfortable space that serves a good selection of local wines and classic cocktails, as well as snacks in tapas style and tempting desserts like the Sicilian granita with brioche.
The icing on the cake is the beautiful outdoor pool with a bar that's open from June to October. The hotel enjoys a remote location, so it's ideal for relaxing days. Fancy exploring further afield? There's a private car park at the hotel, so you can hire a car and take to the road – the island of Sicily awaits.
Just a heads up, due to the hotel's remote location we recommend hiring a car.
