Club Esse Shardana

"The only good thing about the club Esse Shardana is the position! Pls read all the other negative reviews as we experienced all of these things! This hotel doesn’t warrant 4 stars ( wouldn’t even give it 1 star ) it should be shut down. We left after 2 days bkd for 8, as it was so horrible. Staff were the most arrogant people I have ever come across, they just found everyone’s unhappiness , funny. I’m surprised we didn’t end up ill to top it all as it was all dirty including the cutlery. Going to breakfast at 9, we were met with every table covered in used crockery and food, again they just thought it was funny Pls don’t go thinking “it’ll be alright”!"

"Definitely not a 4-star experience I really don’t understand how this hotel has a 4-star rating. The location is honestly the only reason why I would ever consider staying here again. The bartender was the only genuinely friendly and welcoming staff member we encountered during our stay. Unfortunately, our experience at reception was completely different. The receptionist who checked us in was unfriendly, seemed uninterested and did not appear willing to make much effort. She told us she would call when our room was ready, but she never did. When we eventually checked in, we were given hardly any information about the hotel or its facilities. The room itself was disappointing. It was dusty and did not feel properly cleaned. Everything looked quite old and poorly maintained, with broken tiles and even some visible mold in the corners. This is simply not what you expect from a 4-star hotel. The WiFi was also extremely poor and barely worked anywhere except close to reception. What surprised us most, however, was the attitude and atmosphere among the staff. We regularly saw staff members sitting on their phones while there was clearly plenty of work to be done. There were a few employees at breakfast who were genuinely working hard and trying to clear and prepare the tables, but they seemed completely understaffed or unsupported. At around 9:00 AM, hardly any tables had been cleaned and prepared for new guests. Even worse was the atmosphere between the staff themselves. At one point, we could hear employees arguing and shouting loudly at each other. The overall working atmosphere seemed extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. From a guest’s perspective, it feels as though this hotel is seriously lacking strong management: someone who takes responsibility, manages the team properly and deals with staff members who clearly do not contribute to the level of service expected from a 4-star hotel. When we checked out, I actually considered complaining, but by that point I simply did not have the energy anymore. What says a lot is that the receptionist did not even ask whether we had enjoyed our stay or if everything had been satisfactory. Perhaps they already know what the answer is. It is a shame, because the hotel has a great location and could have so much more potential. But based on the cleanliness, maintenance, service and overall atmosphere, this was nowhere near a 4-star experience."

"Its not a 4 star hotel. Its barely 2 star. Old with very old furniture and accessories. Dirty and falling apart. Other than horrible service. No baggage service while the rooms are very far and up hill. Good luck going to your room or even finding it. No internet. Food is so bad you can't even eat it. Parking no space. Bar is almost nonexistent and far. Lounge is boiling hot. Customer service is like a prison camp. The location is good but not worth what you pay for. You should pay 80% less for this crap place."
