Porto Ottiolu Holidays

A picture perfect port

Porto Ottiolu is Sardinia at its most effortlessly summery: a pretty little harbour village wrapped around a well-equipped marina, with a curve of pale sand and that unreal, cobalt water right alongside. It sits neatly between Budoni and San Teodoro, so you get the best of both worlds: chilled seaside days, plus easy access to bigger resort buzz whenever you fancy it.

Start slow. Grab a coffee by the boats, watch captains do their thing, then wander down to Spiaggia di Porto Ottiolu for a swim so clear it feels like cheating. Afternoons are made for boat trips, paddleboarding, or a “let’s just drive five minutes and see what we find” beach hop.

Evenings are where Porto Ottiolu really shines. The marina promenade fills up with aperitivo energy, families on gelato missions, and restaurants serving fresh seafood and Sardinian classics. It’s lively, but never loud. Just the right amount of holiday hum.

Come for the sea, stay for the easy rhythm, and leave with salty hair and a very strong urge to book “next year” before you’ve even unpacked.

Your Porto Ottiolu questions, answered

Late spring to early autumn is the sweet spot for beach weather and that lively marina atmosphere. July and August are the busiest (and buzziest), while June and September often feel like the perfect balance.

If you want to explore nearby Budoni, San Teodoro and all the hidden beaches, renting a car is a great shout. If you’re happy staying local, you can easily do a walk-and-wander holiday around the marina.
Fly into Olbia (Costa Smeralda) Airport with easyJet, then it’s roughly a 30-35 minute drive by car or taxi. There are also bus options, but a transfer is the simplest for holiday mode.
