Right on a sandy beach
A short amble from a pristine patch of sandy shoreline – think white, powder-soft sand – Club Hotel Marina Beach really delivers for an Italian beach break.
The pool scene might knock your sunglasses off – so big it’s practically got its own postcode, and with a bar doling out refreshing drinks and cooling ice creams. Only the necessities of course. For the sporty crowd, the likes of tennis, padel, and beach volleyball are on offer, plus bocce and table tennis. There’s an outdoor fitness area where you can squeeze in a workout, too.
As well as having their own corner of the ginormous pool, kids can have a blast at the mini club, with tailored activities across three different clubs for everyone aged 4-17. Think sports, dancing, and more – the perfect way to keep little ones busy for a bit. The outdoor playground is well stocked with swings and slides, while an indoor play area with fans is ideal for tots who need a break from the sun.
The restaurant dishes up crowd-pleasing Italian fare in the form of bountiful buffet, and twice weekly you’ll be treated to a spread of Sardinian specialties at dinner. A couple of bars are on hand to cover drinks, with one right on the beach, and one that draws a real crowd in the evenings thanks to its programme of live music. We know where we’d be come cocktail hour…
Just so you know, all guests aged 4+ require a club card, which can be purchased at check-in. The card includes entertainment services, mini club, selected sports activities (excluding padel), and use of the swimming pool. From 29 May to 25 September, the club card price is €10 per person per night. Outside of these dates, the cost is €5 per person per night. During your stay you’ll have use of one parasol and two sun loungers per room (regardless of number of guests) on the beach, from the third row backwards. Loungers and parasols in the first two rows are available to book for an additional fee. Payments at the on-site shop, bars, and restaurant can only be made using a pre-loaded money card which is available from reception at check-in.

Find out more about Orosei
In the foothills of the Supramonte mountains on Sardinia’s rugged east coast lies the photogenic medieval town of Orosei – one of the island’s most beguiling destinations, replete with ornate churches, cosy piazzas and cobbled streets lined with traditional stone houses. Venture beyond the town itself, and you’ll quickly be immersed in some of the most spectacular nature Sardinia has to offer.
Here, in the coastal section of the Parco Nazionale del Golfo di Orosei e del Gennargentu (Sardinia’s largest national park), is an array of pristine beaches and hidden coves fringed by oak, juniper and eucalyptus forests and towering limestone cliffs. It’s an ideal place for swimming, snorkelling, canoeing, or simply basking in the sunshine and taking in the idyllic scenery.
As well as the abundance of gorgeous beaches nearby, Orosei is a gateway to many fantastic hiking trails, particularly in the area around Mount Tiscali, the Lanaitho Valley and Gola di Gorropu, which is home to a vast array of wildlife, awe-inspiring chasms, and even the remains of an ancient village dating back to the Nuragic civilization. Just to the south, meanwhile, is the Grotta del Bue Marino – a hauntingly beautiful cave that’s only accessible by boat, and well worth visiting on a day trip.
If you’re drawn to the idea of staying somewhere that’s a little off the beaten track, steeped in history and surrounded by wild, unspoilt nature, Orosei should certainly be on your travel radar.
