La Vecchia Fonte Hotel

"Let's start with the positive sides: good rooms, not very big but well cleaned. Decent breakfast, even if some items were not replenished as early as 09:00. Certainly not a hotel for groups: no common areas, little attention to expressed needs, and—this is the first time it has happened to me since I have been working in a travel agency, that is 43 years—we were forced by the booking to pay for two extra rooms to store our luggage (since our departure was in the evening), claiming that they had no other spaces (which actually existed...) and, since these—cluttered with luggage—would not have allowed us to enter in rotation to freshen up and change before departure—it became necessary to purchase two more on-site (according to them at a special price, in reality the booking price—even with breakfast included). At the reception, I received some incorrect information and a few comments that were too much. It gave me the precise idea of a facility that, rather than aiming to be remembered and to induce the customer to return, is interested in making money immediately and exploiting the turnover of customers, thanks to its location. I will certainly not return, nor will I send any more groups."

"We were lucky to find a parking space infront of the hotel when we arrived at 2pm. There are more parking spaces around 4.30. Parking costs 12€ for 24hrs. The hotel is tastefully decorated and our room was comfortable. There is a kettle in the room. Our room 208 had a smaller balcony than most of the rooms which lost it a star. The breakfast had a good choice and we enjoyed a slagliato cocktail for 8€.It comes served with some cold meats and bread. The beaches are within easy walking distance as is the port with a ferry and boat excursions to La Maddalena There is a very good market infront of the hotel on Fruday mornings."
