"We recently stayed at the Room Mate Filippo and, in general, it is a great hotel. The location is fantastic, situated right near Piazza Barberini, which made exploring Rome incredibly easy.
The rooms are very comfortable and stylish. We stayed in Room 304, which was pleasant, though we found the storage space for clothes to be a bit lacking—there is mostly hanging space and only one drawer, as the shelves are taken up by the safe and the refrigerator. One thing to note for the hotel management: the bed in 304 needs replacing; it was sinking on one side, making it feel a bit like sleeping on the side of a hill.
While the service was mostly good, it was a bit inconsistent. For example, some days we would receive hand towels and other days we wouldn’t, which was a minor but "weird" inconsistency.
However, there were two "surprises" regarding the service that left us a bit speechless:
Coffee Policy: The room is provided with only two Nespresso capsules per day. When I asked the front desk for additional capsules, the request was frowned upon, and I was told only two are allocated. Rather than argue, I just went out and bought my own.
The Water Situation: There are jars of water at the entrance, but when I went to fill my personal water bottle, I was told not to do so and to use the minibar water instead. I was quite shocked by this and filled my bottle anyway, but I didn't try a second time to avoid the confrontation.
Bottom Line: This is a good hotel in a prime location with very comfortable rooms. Just be prepared for some slightly rigid policies regarding basic amenities like coffee and water."
