"We spent 3 of our 14 nights in Italy here. This was our one wildcard hotel. I almost canceled the booking several times before we traveled but I’m glad I didn’t. It’s listed as a 2-star hotel on Google (that made me nervous and uneasy) yet it is clean, comfortable, and very close to everything in Rome. If you can get past the tiny entrance door that leads to a common hallway, that leads to a staircase, that leads two floors up to an indiscreet door, that leads to a living-room-sized “lobby” that doubles as a breakfast bar, you’ll be fine. The 4.3 to 4.7 traveler review ratings on this (and other booking websites) are legitimate. Location is everything in Rome and compared to other full-amenity hotels, this place is a bargain.
The people are wonderful, friendly, happy, and very welcoming. Our room was waaaay down a dark and narrow hallway but the room was clean, safe, and well maintained. Breakfast was minimal but just enough to get s going in the morning.
This hotel is only 2-3 blocks away from the Spanish Steps. For the price, the location is well worth some of the little inconveniences. Over 4 days and three nights, we walked everywhere except to the Vatican."
