"Giuseppe and the staff were wonderful! They made you feel right at home from the start, and the rooms are affordable, extremely clean, quiet, spacious, comfortable, and have everything you need after a day of exploring the city. We’ll definitely stay here next time we come back and recommend it to anyone traveling to Rome for the first time or the tenth time. You’re super close to the bus station, metro, Villa Borghese, and a short walk to the Trevi fountain."

"We stayed at Hotel Golden at the end of July and had a wonderful experience. We arrived late in the evening to a lovely, cool, spacious room, which was very welcome after travelling. The hotel was quiet, spotlessly clean, and in a fantastic central location. We felt completely safe walking around the area, and many of Rome’s main sights were within easy walking distance, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. There are also plenty of lovely restaurants just a short walk from the hotel, serving fantastic food at very reasonable prices, so finding somewhere to eat was never a problem. Being a family-run hotel really made a difference. Everyone was friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. Our room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels and bedding changed daily, which was a lovely touch. If you’re looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and well-located hotel in Rome, with great restaurants on your doorstep and easy access to the city’s attractions, I would definitely recommend Hotel Golden. We would happily stay here again."

"Hotel Golden is a small family run hotel located just a few steps from the Villa Borghese park. The "superior room" we booked had a very firm king sized bed and a single sized trundle bed. Its air-conditioning worked well but we seldom used it as the temperature was nice in April. We could open the window that looked onto the street below. It is not wheelchair accessible as the hotel is on the second floor and the 100 year old elevator is really tiny. Mostly, there is a big step to get into the bathroom. (That might have been just our room). We bought a couple mugs, some coffee, tea and breakfast foods from a nearby "Tigre" grocery store and used the kettle available in the hallway each morning. No breakfast is included and the coffee shop next door simply charged tourists too much. When I told the hotel owner how much I was charged he said he would tell the coffee shop owner he would discourage his guests from going there. He also recommended going to the Pizzeria across the street for breakfast instead for better prices and service. Too bad it was our last morning there, I should have mentioned it sooner. We did ask for recommendations for gelato shops and eating establishments, which he gave. He even made reservations for us. We went to all of the places he recommended and loved them all. Good food at reasonable prices. He also called for our taxi to the airport. I recommend you let him know the day before so he can make arrangements ahead of time with reputable taxi drivers. Overall, this was a great hotel and I recommend it for people who like to get away from the chaos of the crowded areas yet can still walk around 30 minutes or so to get to the attractions. We used Google maps and found everything we were looking for."
