Buyer Beware!
"Starting with an overview, Cloud 9 proves that - yes - the camera can and does lie! All the photos on Booking were obviously well staged. This is not a hotel, it's an unmanned couple of converted apartments. There is no manned reception, there is no restaurant, there is no bar. Onto specifics, I booked 2 rooms for my son and myself - first thing we noted was his toilet did not function. I reported this via the Booking messaging link, a handyman turned up, poked around, achieved nothing and then told me I just didn't understand Italian plumbing. I should mention that my son's air conditioning was not working on arrival and, even when fresh batteries were put in the remote, only functioned like the antiquated unit it is. Additionally in my son’s room, there was a thick build up of mould around the edges of the shower. In my room, the light switch was located next to the sink - with the switch being broken and exposed terminals. Electrically, in both rooms there were insecure light fittings – leading to a potential electric shock risk. In both rooms, the windows open fully to a 3 storey drop to a courtyard below with no fall prevention. To be fair, there is the legal requirement for a fire evacuation plan on the backs of the doors - in Italian and taking some figuring out. Added to this, there is absolutely no fire alarm in the premises so, I'd assume if a fire broke out it would be a case of notifying via the app - while other people potentially died. Continuing on fire safety, whilst the room doors are solid and fire rated, the automatic closer arms have been removed from them - not only a life but a security risk. On security, there is no room safe or alternative secure storage - meaning your cash & passport are vulnerable whilst you're not present in your room. Moving back to general, this conversion has been achieved with paper thin walls. At night, with other guests slamming doors and dragging furniture, it was like being in the belly of a whale. In summary - think twice!"
Great location basic but no complaints
"Excellent location near the Vatican Basic but has everything you need including air con Rooms are small and shower was tight but enough for a couple of days stay Rooms are located in a apartment block so there are several keys to get in the different doors and reception isn’t 24/7 but staff are great and helpful"
Please avoid the Rome Slum and Horrible owner Antonio
"What a disgusting Hotel and the owner is as Bad as his Hotel . It is nothing like the pictures I really hope I save anyone else from staying at this "hotel" Upon arriving this is what we found 1- Broken Beds. when we checked in to the first room and put our bag on the bed, it collapsed. We went back to the reception, which mind you rarely has anyone in attendance, Managed to find a helpful cleaner who phoned to owner and the owner agreed to move us to another room. Second room, Same issue with the Bed. Only discovered the second broken bed ;later after we returned from getting something to eat. See attached pictures 2- Shower leaks. Water all over the bathroom and the bathroom is in horrible condition. 3 - Fridge dose not work. 4 - Curtains in the room are broken and don't close. 5 - Security doors on the floor was broken. They stressed that we needed to ensure that the doors were closed properly but as they were broken they didn't need a key to open them... Just push the door and walk straight in. We pointed this out on day one and it was never fixed. 6 - Walls were in a shocking condition... the whole place was disgustingly dirty We booked this room via Booking.com. so we asked them for a refund so we could move to a decent hotel. They said that they needed 24 hours to see the owner would agree to issuing a refund. After a lengthy and costly number of calls with Booking.com they finally spoke to the owner, (Antonio) who said he would come in the morning to check it out and decide. When we returned to our room the bed was made and the legs straightened but not fixed. We asked the cleaner if Antonio had come as promised and he said he did not. Antonio did however tell Booking.com and said he had been there and fixed the problems. Now because of this booking.com decided that the problem was all sorted out but it was not. More phone calls to Antonio went unanswered but he manged to contact Booking.com to say that he was refusing to give a refund. After even more calls to Booking.com we received an email from Antonio informing us that the rooms were in perfect condition when we checked in and we broke the beds and he has fixed them at his expenses and wont charge us for the repairs. Someone finally turned up at reception at this stage and between him and the cleaner they both agreed that this was unacceptable and could clearly see that the Bed issue was not our fault. The Gent at reception asked Antonio if we could be moved again and he said no. In the end they removed the broken bed and swapped it for a different one. They also told us that this bed issue happens a lot. Antonio refused to pick up the phone, txt us, or answer our emails. He did communicate via his cleaner that he was OK for us to leave anytime but we would not be getting a refund of any amount. As I said at the beginning Antonio owner is as Bad as his Hotel. We spent over $1500 on this Slum."
