Albergo Abruzzi

"We stayed at Albergo Abruzzi for four nights and had a wonderful experience. We travel a lot, but we have never stayed in such a clean room. Although the hotel is rated 3 stars, we believe it deserves a higher rating. The location is excellent—right in the heart of Rome and within walking distance of almost everywhere. There are hundreds of restaurants, souvenir shops, and grocery stores nearby. The view from our room was priceless! Our window overlooked the Pantheon, and waking up to such an incredible view made our stay even more special. If we come back to Rome, we will definitely stay at Albergo Abruzzi again. Highly recommended!"

"We booked Hotel Abruzzi mainly for its location and the promise of a Pantheon view, but unfortunately the overall experience did not live up to our expectations. We stayed in a junior suite on the fifth floor. The room itself was clean and perfectly adequate, but the lift was unbelievably slow and extremely hot. We were told this was because the building is old, but as our room was on the top floor, we often ended up taking the stairs instead. After spending all day walking around Rome, this became uncomfortable and inconvenient. The Pantheon view was also disappointing. Because the room was located in the loft, the windows were set into dormers and only offered a partial view. To see the Pantheon properly, we had to lean out of the window, which was not what we had expected when booking a room advertised for its view. Another strange policy was the coffee provision. We were given only a couple of coffee pods for the entire stay, and any additional pods had to be paid for. This is the first time we have encountered this at any hotel. Breakfast is not served in the hotel itself. Instead, guests are given a small voucher card and sent to a café around a one-minute walk away down a side street. You tick your choices from a limited set menu. Personally, I found the whole breakfast experience poor and not in keeping with what we expected from the hotel. In hindsight, taking into account the lift, the stairs, the restricted view and the breakfast arrangement, I would not return to Hotel Abruzzi. The location is excellent and the rooms are clean, but for us, the hotel did not deliver the experience we believed we had booked."

"Location was amazing! We could see the Pantheon from our hotel room!! The rooms were clean and looked recently updated! The staff was so friendly and helpful as were all the people we met in Rome. Highly recommend for a central location"
