"We loved our stay at Hotel Celio. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the location is excellent — very walkable to plenty of restaurants, with a small grocery store right down the street. The hotel's decor is really lovely in the rooms and everywhere else. The floors were my favorite detail (they're almost glittery with gorgeous mosaics), and the rooms feel unique and authentic rather than hotel-common. They're clean and grand with very tall ceilings. One of our rooms even had a little secret patio with a doorway from the bathroom, which was such a nice surprise. Breakfast was a highlight too. I read reviews about the Wifi and want to make sure to mention our experience - we had no issues at all and my sons had to both take video meetings for school while here. I loved the decor so much that i took a video of the floor! If we're back in Rome, we would love to return."

"I advise skipping this hotel. I was double-charged mistakenly and I am having great difficulty getting it corrected. The manager refused to help me correct the mistake when I said I had only booked one room. I have had to enter a dispute with my credit card company. The beds are very uncomfortable. The Colosseum is a difficult area to find lodging that is reasonable. It is also super crowded and touristy so the restaurants aren't great with the exception of Contrario which is amazing. Highly recommend eating there. It is better to visit the area for the day and stay in another part of town such as Ludovisi where the hotels are much, much nicer."

"Robert is the owner and always present to help with anything you need. He is most pleasant. The hotel is historic and strikingly beautiful. Dont miss the multi-level rooftop garden. Wonderful breakfast and great location. We will be back"
