Verno House Budapest Vignette Collection

"For our initial trip to Budapest, my other half chose the Verno house partly due to it being and IHG property (her regular chain and she had points) and because the location is absolutely fabulous. You can walk to most all of the downtown tourist spots and are within minutes of numerous great restaurants, even just outside the hotel door on the same street. The gentlemen that checked us in took us to our th floor room and explained the amenities that came with it, including many no-charge items from the mini-bar (juices, soda, and water). The room was immaculate, as was the rest of the hotel. The first night in, we decided to get a quick snack in the hotel’s restaurant/bar. There was only one person on staff (instead of the normal 3, so service was understandably a little slow (there were at least 10 other folks eating/drinking as well). We ordered a “cold cut and cheese’ plate which turned out to be EXACTLY that, Cold cuts “nuked” in the microwave to soften/melt the cheese. We were hungry, but it was a disappointing. Our server – Lutza – was pleasant, as she ran about taking care of all the patrons. We’d close each night with her and a drink or two – just a lovely person who added to our very positive experience at Verno House. If you’re in Budapest for any length of time, tourist or business I would highly recommend this great little, boutique hotel."

"Most of the staff is a bit inexperienced which should not be an issue unless it makes you lose time. Also, in terms of food, breakfast is scarce to say the least; and both in-room service and “restaurant” have less than half of the already scarce menu available. For such a overpriced hotel, you would expect higher standards."

"10/10 city break in Budapest. We used IHG points to book and it's one of the nicer boutique IHG hotels we've stayed at. The rooms are lovely and very spacious. Perfect location for walking everywhere. Nice bar/restaurant attached to the hotel and lovely staff. Highly recommend!"
