"What a lovely little hotel in a great location, perfect for a city break...
The hotel itself is clean, tidy and pleasant.
Rooms are smal,l but as its only a base, its more than good enough. Staff are lovely and helpful.
Theres a nice little breakfast area, fruits, yogurts and cereals and offering a small gluten free corner with individually wrap croissants, cake and crisp bread, Gluten free bread available on request.
Staff also helpful and aware of the hot food that are gluten free too, scrambled eggs, bacon.
Hotel has an honesty bar fridge in reception, help your self and mark what you’ve taken and pay on check out, wine beer spirits soft drinks.
Few decent bars a 100 metres either way you turn, turn right and there Billys pub and another one next door.
Turn left cross road to the left there’s an Irish bar... both decent for a rest and a pint when your feet are burning...
Gf in Budapest is quite easy to find, we use the app Find me gluten free, we ate at GoodBar, Good burger, literally around the corner to hotel, burgers were big and tasty and fries were gf too..
We had a Gf McDonalds cheese burger on the go for a quick pit stop.
We ate at hard rock and had a nice meal, only are there as its close to the river, we done the hour cruise with welcome drink on Danube, booked via viator on the morning, really good way to see all the parliament building and castle lit up on the night time.
We ate our last lunch at Her Bar just off Vaci street, it was dedicated gf and vegan.... we had the gf salted waffle with normal cream cheese as we aren’t vegan. we had avocado and tomato and cheese, mozzarella, ham cherry tomato and balsamic... they were very filling and nice knowing it was completely gf kitchen before you fly home!
Budapest is beautiful, lots to see and do.
We went to the New York cafe for a coffee, building itself is amazing, coffee was ok, but 25 quid for 2...
All meals had a 12 or 15% service charge on in every restaurant ...
The castle is nice to see, walking over the chain bridge and getting the cable car to the top, we got there a few minutes after midday and caught the changing of the guard..... get there before 12 to see the full parade lasts about 15 minutes..
The cave bars are worth a visit too, they are busy but worth a look inside ..
A fabulous city break with lots to see and do.
Drinks wise expect to pay about 5000-7500 HF depending where you go for Rum/coke and Absolute/ Sprite.
Meals, again depends where you eat but about 20000/ 30000 HF for a main and 1 or 2 drinks each.
We would definitely recommend the three corners art hotel"
