"Hello there!
Where to begin with my review?
After a very long flight from Florida we arrived at the Park Plaza Hotel by way of a Bolt cab. We got out of the car and we were amazed by the view from the front doors. Across the Danube River there was the Hungarian Parliament Building to the left and the historic Széchenyi Chain Bridge to the right. Great View!
When we went inside we were immediately greeted by the front desk staff and quickly checked into our room by Levente. We went to the room and inspected it.. It was on the 6th Floor and it faced the Danube River. Beautiful View! The room was clean, the furniture was in good order, and the bathroom was set up well.
We paid the extra $14.99 to have our morning breakfasts included and it was worth it!
The breakfast area is downstairs and it was set up very well! Everything was arranged in a way that there was never a cluster of people waiting in a line to get anything. It was a European style breakfast that had a lot of different breads, cheeses, fruits, and meats, available. It also featured eggs, bacon, sausages, and a Hungarian stew that could be eaten over rice. This was a fantastic breakfast selection that we enjoyed every day! The breakfast area closes by 10:30 am. Do not be late!
The staff in the breakfast area are wonderful! They are led by Sylvia and her all-star staff anchored by Anna, Kata, Rebi, and Klau. We enjoyed seeing them every morning and our breakfast conversations. They are a group of SUPER STARS! They helped us start our days off right and helped us to enjoy everything in Budapest.
Our room, the room was located on the sixth floor, it gave us a great view of the Danube river everyday.. We never had any problems and our room was always well kept. We came and went through out the day and we loved it! The water for the shower was always hot and felt wonderful after a long day of exploring Budapest!
The Park Plaza Hotel has a fantastic location! We like to utilize the local transit system and it was very nice that there was a tram and a bus stop almost right outside the front doors of the hotel. This was convenient and really nice! The Budapest transit system is one of the best I have ever experienced in all of my travels.
We were at both of the Metallica concerts that took place and it took us less than 30 minutes to exit the Puskas Arena and to get to the Park Plaza Hotel after the concert.
When I travel I always keep thing in perspective, age of the hotel, where I am at, and how much I am paying. The Park Plaza was not the cheapest hotel to stay at but it is not the most expensive, It worked for us! The price worked for us! We loved our stay and it is worth every penny or forint we paid.
I will come back to the Park Plaza Hotel every time I go back to Budapest!"
