Intercityhotel Budapest

"We did not stay at this hotel so my review is purely based in the reception and bar staff. The hotel where we stayed was not a nice hotel plus it was no bar so we found Intercity Hotel nearby. The bar girl Reakee (probably not correct spelling) welcome my family with such warmth. She chatted with us and asked were we guests, we explained that we weren't and listened to our story as to why we were choosing this hotel for relaxing and having tea/coffee and food at her hotel. The poor girl was visibly upset at our experience and took it upon herself to apologise on behalf of the nice Hungarian people out there. Raekee looked after us each time we called in. I would just like to say thank you so much, you have really given us happy memories of Budapest and her people. If we ever return it will definitely be to Intercity Hotel next to Keleti train station"

"We had a truly wonderful stay! The room was spotless every single day, and the housekeeping staff did an amazing job keeping everything tidy and fresh. Breakfast was outstanding, such a wide variety of options, with fresh vegetables and fruit, and everything was replenished quickly. The staff were always helpful, friendly, and attentive. The location couldn’t be better; close to the metro, tram, bus stops, shopping centers, the city center, and even several fast-food places. We had everything we needed right around the corner. We also celebrated our anniversary during our stay, and it made the whole experience even more special; everything was just perfect from start to finish. I’d seen a few comments mentioning that the neighborhood felt a bit sketchy, but honestly, we felt completely safe the entire time. People were just minding their own business, and the area was calm and convenient. Overall, it was a beautiful experience; clean, comfortable, amazing breakfast, lovely staff, and great location. 10/10 , happily stay here again! 🤍"

"Four nights here in October, as part of a concert tour with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Chorus. Newly built hotel, slightly out of the main city centre, but very conveniently placed for public transport, which in Budapest is excellent. Very attractive modern decor in the main reception and bar area. Very much geared towards large tours, but able to handle them all very efficiently. Very comfortable room overlooking an attractive internal courtyard, very quiet and peaceful. Good buffet breakfast, crowded at times, but the queues moved quite quickly, and plenty of space for everyone. Nice bar, excellent Soproni beer on tap and a good selection of other beers and drinks. Good food served throughout the day, particularly recommend the burgers and the goulash soup. The bar usually closes strangely early - 2130 - but on our last evening our chorus manager persuaded them to keep it open so that we could all have a celebratory drink after our last concert - huge amount of extra work for the two bar staff, massive respect to them both. Courteous and friendly service from all the staff at all times. My only slight reservation is that, for supposedly environmental reasons, they don’t clean the bedrooms or make up the beds everyday, unless you particularly request this. But on the whole, an enjoyable stay in a good hotel."
