Ibis Styles Budapest Center

"I've stopped in IBIS all over Europe and always had a great experience, so was looking forward to this, especially as the Styles hotel is meant to be IBIS' top tier hotel. It was dirty, the room was tiny, the bathroom absolutely stank of what can only be described as rotting cabbage. The shower gel was empty when we arrived and stayed like that all trip. There was one extra pillow for a double bed, which when I removed from top of the cupboard, I was covered in dirty old dust. For the first 4 nights, it sounded like someone revving a jumbo jet outside out window. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room and when I asked for a bit of milk to make a cup of tea, I was greeted with a sigh and a roll of the eyes from the member of staff; he literally walked like 8 steps to get some, anyone would think I asked him to go milk the cow. Only 1 lift working most of the time too. I don't know what house keeping we're doing but it was poor. Don't stay here, it's smelly, and it's not clean."

"3.5 stars budget hotel with excellent breakfast. pros: - location: right on the main street - Rokoczi. bus/ train stops and Lidl within 1 block. - despite it being on the main street the rooms were quiet - rooms: sparse amenities but to be expected - hair dryer, soap, towels werent great. the beds were comfy. - breakfast: solid - pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit, bread. good variety - elevators were quick cons: - no fridge - had AC but only goes down to 23 C. we had to ask for a fan overnight. - no dedicated shampoo/ conditioner - bathroom would flood with showers due to small glass covering overall: good value for the price but bewere the AC in the summer"

"The hotel is conveniently situated in the city center, with supermarkets, restaurants, and various public transport options all within easy reach. The staff were friendly overall. However, during check-in, the young staff member who was training did not provide much useful information about the stay — for example, where breakfast was served or that free water and coffee were available at reception. The more experienced colleague assisting her did not mention these things either, so we had to find out by asking ourselves. Interesting hotel theme design. Room was clean. The central location is convenient, although there is some street noise, even if it was not particularly disruptive. The windows do not have insect screens, which could be inconvenient when keeping them open during the summer mosquito season. The room was a reasonable size, but the bathroom was quite small. The glass shower was too short, so water ended up on the bathroom floor. One of the power sockets near the TV was also not working. Breakfast was one of the stronger points. There was a good variety of food, including vegetables, side dishes, meat, cheese, fruit, and sweet options, and everything we tried was tasty. The coffee, however, was only average considering the price level of the hotel. Overall, this is a decent relatively budget option in a convenient location, although a few maintenance details and some aspects of the guest information could be improved."
