"This was my second stay at Hotel Vision, and I will definitely be coming back. I travelled with my child on both occasions, and the hotel has proved to be an excellent choice for a family city break in Budapest.
Breakfast at the Tapas restaurant offers a great variety of choices. Coffee of your choice is included, and if you feel like starting the day with a glass of sparkling wine, that is an option too. :)
The rooms are spacious, comfortable and cleaned daily. They are well equipped with a minibar and coffee machine, and the beds are large and very comfortable. We also love the toiletries provided by the hotel — they smell wonderful and feel really nice on the skin.
The location really couldn't be better. The hotel is right on the Danube, just a five-minute walk from Váci Street, while the Central Market Hall and Liberty Bridge are around a 15-minute leisurely walk away.
Tram No. 2, probably the most scenic tram route in Budapest, stops right in front of the hotel and runs along the Danube towards the Parliament, offering beautiful views of Buda Castle along the way. Metro stations are also less than a 10-minute walk away, making it very easy to explore the whole city. I highly recommend using the BudapestGO app for getting around.
After two stays, Hotel Vision has definitely become our go-to hotel in Budapest. We will be back!
While you’re there, don’t miss:
1. Tapas Restaurant, located on the ground floor of the hotel, with a lovely view towards Gellért Hill.
2. The view from Gellért Hill — you can walk there directly from the hotel, and the panorama over Budapest and the Danube is well worth it. If you are not up for the climb, you can take a paid electric shuttle that will take you all the way to the top.
3. A walk along the Danube from the hotel to the Parliament. If you visit in summer, parts of the riverside are closed to traffic and opened to pedestrians, making the walk even more enjoyable.
4. Tropicarium, especially if you are travelling with children. The bus that takes you there stops only about a five-minute walk from the hotel.
5. The Hungarian Natural History Museum and ELTE Botanical Garden — both are great choices when visiting Budapest with children.
6. The Children’s Railway — a unique Budapest experience and a wonderful way to explore the Buda Hills with children.
7. The Aeropark Aviation Museum and airport tour — a great experience for children and adults interested in aviation, with historic aircraft and a fascinating look behind the scenes of Budapest Airport."
