"Firstly a disclaimer: Im accustomed to high standards so please read my review with that in mind.
Lets start off with the good things first. The location is really good, right in the city center with lots of restaurants, bars and shops nearby. The breakfast is adequate, above avearge i'd say and the rooms are decent.
Now for the bad part, which ended of ruining the whole experience for me.
We got two keys/cards for the room but only one of them worked. We just used the one that didnt work to power the electricity all the time (there is a slot in which you need to put it in order for the lights and A/C to work).
That resulted in the cleaning personal knicking our card when we were out, apparently to save electricity (or so the staff said).
Thats fine, weird but fine, but they didnt leave the card in the room and there was no note that they had taken it. I had to go down from third floor, stand in line for 15-20 minutes at the reception to be told that the cleaning personal had indeed taken the card and that this was standard and, as mentioned, to save electricity.
We got a new card and this also didnt work for the door so we just used it for electricity once again.
After a long and hot day this led to frustration but it wasnt the end of the world.
The next day I made sure to unplug the card from the slot when we left the room and when we came back the cleaning personal had once again knicked the card. Again, didnt leave it in the room, no note no nothing. By now, I was kinda getting angry about it. So, once again I went down from third floor and got in line at the reception. They didnt seem very understanding other than telling me "they do it to save electricity". OKAY FINE! But it wasnt plugged in this time and even if it were why dont they just take it out of the slot and leave it in the room so I dont have to waste my precious time going down ten thousand of stairs to stand in line and receive a new card...... Words cant explain how illogical that is.
After a heated conversation I get a new card and at least this one worked for the door also. Finally! Only took three attempts. The older guy in the reception said something in Hungarian, which I didnt understand and can only assume it was some form of insult.
So, on the last day before our departure we finally had two cards that could open the door to the hotel and the door to our room meaning we could actually split up and not be dependant on eachother.
I have visited plenty of hotels in my lifetime so far and never have I experienced that the staff or cleaning personal steals your card. Never. Nowhere does it say you cant leave the card in and nowhere does it say that doing so may result in theft. Which is basicly is in my view.
So, to sum up, the location is good, breakfast is fine and the rooms are okay but the experience and situations with the cards drags it so much down that I would highly reconsider staying at another hotel. Unless you can get this dirt cheap and/or doesnt care about people stealing your stuff.
I will probably get the standard "my sincerest apology, we hope you will give the opportunity bla bla bla" reply from the hotel which I dont really care for cause its useless to me and dont mean anything. Actions speak louder than words."
