Hotel Gin Budapest

"A modern hotel in the centre of Budapest, we had a cosy room and it was a great size, very spacious. The room has shutters on the windows as well as curtains which creates a blackout for the perfect nights sleep. Check-in was very easy and we were able to check-in 2 hours early with no extra charge. There is a hairdryer, towels and safe. The room had a mini-bar. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had breakfast which is served at the sister hotel (hotel rum) which is a 3 minute walk away."

"This hotel is very easy to get too. If you get the 100 bus from the airport it’s less than a 2 minutes walk. Overall the hotel is great. We booked direct with the hotel as they had an offer on so it was cheaper than booking.com etc. When we first arrived we thought the hotel was very modern and to our style, when we went to check in. Neither of us could hear the staff, they were extremely quiet and we felt like we were deaf, I had to ask them to repeat themselves a few times on numerous occasions because of this. We did get to go to our room 2-3 hours before with no fee so that was great. We booked a cosy room and it was very spacious, bigger than we expected. However, there was some damage to some areas of the room near the toilet and shower. The bed was firm with very soft pillows. The shower is a glass door with a mirror opposite so if you are friends I hope you are close friends. The shutter on the window is a great plus, total black out to sleep in. We had no idea where the mini fridge was so would be nice to have a note where it is (if there is, we didn’t notice). No milk in the fridge or on the side for tea or coffee. A pointless sink in the toilet, no hand wash or anywhere for a hand towel so I felt disgusting after using the toilet. The app states you get a welcome drink, we asked about it and was told that’s wrong. It’s not at this hotel. We stated that it was our first ever couples holiday and first time coming to Budapest, we thought the hotel would of done something in the room like a note to say welcome or offered us something to buy before going to the hotel but we got nothing and nothing was offered. The hotel is a great location for walking further into the city, great food places nearby. We didn’t eat or drink at the sister hotel as it was slightly unclear on the prices. Overall it was okay and we used the hotel to sleep in and just to chill out for an hour before going out to explore again but I think the hotel just need to get the little touches right as they can make you feel cared about a little more"

"Room Very clean, shower was very powerful, layout is open plan and you can see into the shower but overall due to the open plan was spacious. House keeping was good, only thing I have never experienced in a hotel is that housekeeping comes round at 8:30am! Slightly early… if you tell them to come back later they do so not a problem but they do wake you up sometimes Breakfast The sister hotel is literally a 2mins walk, very easy and breakfast is located there at the rooftop, lovely breakfast restaurant. If you have breakfast included, it is a limited set menu, however good quality food and drink rather than a buffet style which you would usually get. Service is there is great, very accommodating as my friend was vegetarian and they amended the set options to make it work. FYI - you are told on check in to book breakfast time in advance.. not sure why because some days we went late and tables were still available. Breakfast is from 7-9am which is an early sitting, however we sat there until past 9am sometimes until 10am or later and they are ok with it so I think it’s just to manage footfall not too strict.. Location Location is good, it’s around 10-15mins walk to the centre of Budapest. Google rating on this hotel is 3star, I think this is definitely a 4 star hotel."
