"# Tsilivi Beach Hotel – Zakynthos **Our rating:** 4 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐** We spent a week at the Tsilivi Beach Hotel on Zakynthos at the end of October. Overall, we had a nice and relaxing vacation. In our opinion, the hotel offers good value for money, and we would recommend it despite some weaknesses. ### Room and amenities Our room was modern, clean, and nicely furnished. We particularly liked the bathroom with the modern shower and the indirect lighting. The amenities included air conditioning and a small refrigerator, which we found very practical. ### Food and snack bar For us, the food was one of the hotel's greatest strengths. Breakfast as well as lunch and dinner were consistently good. The selection was large, and we were very satisfied with the taste. We also found the snack bar to be a positive. The sandwiches, which you could easily take with you on the go, were especially practical. Additionally, there was the option to order packed lunches by 8 PM the previous evening. However, we did not use this offer ourselves. ### Drinks – the biggest point of criticism Unfortunately, the drinks cannot keep up with the good food in terms of quality. The soft drinks from the machines sometimes had an unpleasant, chlorine-like aftertaste. The white wine was very poor for our taste, and the cocktails did not convince us either. Even the gin and tonic tasted more like gin with lemon soda than a proper gin and tonic. The beer, on the other hand, was fine, as was the water from the separate filtered water station. There was no option to order higher-quality drinks for an additional charge. ### Pool, beach, and leisure activities The pool area is beautifully designed and well-maintained. However, the water was very cold at the end of October, as the pool is not heated. The hotel is located directly on the beach, which is a great advantage. However, the beach itself was very narrow during our stay and heavily covered with seagrass and algae. We found the early reservation of pool loungers by other guests somewhat annoying. At the pool, there is, among other things, darts and table tennis. However, the hotel should invest a bit more in the equipment here. The darts, for example, were all bent. In principle, we find the $10 deposit for the game equipment reasonable, but its condition should be checked regularly. Paid massages were also offered in front of the restaurant. We would have liked to try these, but unfortunately did not get around to it during our stay. ### Service and other amenities The staff was predominantly friendly, helpful, and hardworking. Work was done with great dedication, especially in the restaurant. Also worth highlighting is the free parking, which was very practical for us with a rental car. Only about a two-minute walk from the hotel is a small kiosk where you can buy snacks, drinks, or even a bottle of wine for the room. Although the Wi-Fi had a good signal strength, it was sometimes quite slow during normal browsing. Video streaming, on the other hand, worked surprisingly well. A small point of criticism was that a dog entered the restaurant area several times during our stay and looked for food among the guests. That should be better prevented for hygienic reasons. ### Our conclusion The Tsilivi Beach Hotel is not a perfect hotel, but it offers a really good overall package. We were particularly impressed by the good food, the beautiful rooms, the friendly staff, the direct beach location, and the good value for money. The biggest weakness is clearly the drinks. Anyone who can live with that and does not have high expectations for cocktails or wine in the all-inclusive offer will, in our opinion, have a nice and affordable vacation here. **We would recommend the hotel and give it 4 out of 5 stars.**"

"First time back in 12 years as before staff friendly and helpful"

"The Tsilivi Beach Hotel is in a prime beachfront position; granted, it's not a pristine strip of white sand, but nevertheless, it's a beach with crystal-clear blue sea, which is warm and a 30-second walk from the hotel pool. We visited in mid-October with no real expectations, I'd read some reviews before I went, and to be honest, I find that people are either positive or have an axe to grind, so I went with an open mind. First impressions were very positive, we arrived at lunch time, checked in and found our rooms, both rooms overlooking the pool with a sea view, and we're absolutely spot on. The pool area is surrounded by plenty of beds all of which get a good amount of sunshine through the day, the beds closest to the beach bar get sun almost all day and as such are very popular, we didn't have any issues with people putting towels out at first, but later in the holiday people did start to. The restaurant served a wide range of different cuisine through the week, and I always found something I liked the look of. My wife and two of my children are coeliac and managed to find a good choice, although nothing is clearly marked with allergens, which is definitely an opportunity for improvement. Although Hellenic food is naturally clean so naturally gluten free. If I could find a "fault," it would be that the drinks menu tends to be somewhat limited and the spirits are obviously from the budget end of the range; not a massive issue, but again, an opportunity to improve, as the drinks on offer are very sweet. All in all we had a great time, the staff were always polite and friendly and in typical Hellenic style, always make you feel welcome. I would highly recommend the Tsilivi Beach and I would definitely stay again."
