"I came here with my brother, sister in law and toddler nephew for a week's holiday. The resort itself isn't bad, it is as advertised - it has several swimming pools, a splash park, rides for the kids (you do have to pay for these additionally), a football area, a play area with swings etc and it does have nightly entertainment for the children. Essentially the holiday was focused around what we needed to keep a 3 year old entertained and it did that.
However, there are a number of gripes. Things that were more irritating than anything else and may or may not put you off when considering whether to spend your hard earned cash here.
Firstly positives:
- Pools were great - there's a busy lazy river style one where the music and entertainment takes place and there's a smaller (but still reasonable) quieter pool
- Plenty of seats at the pool
- Lots for the kids to do
- Food in the buffet was excellent, plenty of choice and fresh
- Drinks were ok, but not great - they were however plentifyl. Be aware that the 'cocktails' are pre mixed and sweet enough to make you lose teeth
- Beach close - but beware it can be choppy and there are pebbles as you enter the sea, so sea shoes advised
Gripes
- Cleanliness. the rooms were not particularly clean, bedding wasn't changed regularly. Common areas weren't clean - especially in the buffet area. Never saw the pools cleaned or an automated cleaner in it. In the kids area there are grabber machines, and the toys inside are filthy - there's even a dead spider in one of them sat on top of the stuffed toy. Also, the toilets by the snack bar were absolutely disgusting - one day I went in several times and there was faeces up the front of the toilet and the floors were so wet and dirty I actually took the mop that was there and cleaned it. Checked the staffing rota out the front and no one had been ALL DAY.
- Staff didn't clear plates quickly in the buffet area, constantly had to ask them to take them or put them on the table ourslelves. Also cutlery - half the time we'd sit and there was none and it took some time for someone to come.
- Rooms are tired looking, marks on bed, woodwork damaged, things just unfinished
- Toilets!! Its a family friendly place and yet the toilets are liike a wetherspoons - miles away from the restaurant downstairs. Not great with a toddler who can't hold his wee.
- Staff disinterested and certainly not attentive. We asked for a bed guard for the little one before arriving and it wasn't there, so we asked for it - they brought it and threw on the floor. We asked them to put it on, which they did but incorrectly. They consistently didn't leave enough towels for 4. We had to keep asking for cups as they were never replaced. When we kept contacting reception there was never an apology. Same when we left - we were asked how the stay was and we said there were some issues but they weren't interested.
- Pool towels - you have to get from by reception from after 10am ....late in my opinion and was far away from the pools. Why not have the pool towel area close by the various pools? Makes no sense.
- Entertainment was pretty dire (exception being the Greek night which was fun). As was the 'Italian' restaurant we booked for the last night. Awful. Truly awful food and nothing for the toddler so his mum had to go to the buffet anyway. We left after two courses (gazpacho soup as warm veg soup?! say no more).
So overall, on balance its not terrible, but it could be so much better. It has the foundation to be really good. The gripes wouldn't necessarily stop me going again, but there are definite improvements to be made and we were a tad disappointed in it truth be told.
PS = if you are thinking of the swim up rooms, we had one and didn't even use it because the bigger pools are excellent (if cold!) and they have smaller shallower children's pools annexed to them."
