In sleepy Svoronata – a pretty coastal village about 20 minutes’ drive from Kefalonia’s capital Argostoli – you’ll find laidback Bessie’s Village. If sandy beaches, crystal-clear Mediterranean waters, and proper peace and quiet is what you’re after, this could be just the spot for you. It’s only a five-minute drive from Kefalonia airport, too, so you can make it from the plane to the pool in record time.
Days here are best spent soaking up the sunshine and the serene atmosphere. Nearby Ammes Beach, with its soft sands and shallow waters is perfect for a quiet swim or an afternoon spent lazing on the shore – and it’s only a five-minute stroll from the hotel. There’s a smattering of Tavernas, cafés, and restaurants along the waterfront, but if you’re craving a bit more hustle and bustle, hop on the bus and head for Argostoli.
When you’ve had enough excitement, head back to the mellow surroundings of the apartment complex. The pool has got pride of place in the gardens, which are dotted with palm trees and sun loungers. The poolside bar serves up refreshing drinks, while the self-catering facilities in each of the apartments will ensure you can whip something up to tide you over between meals.
