Sami Holidays

A star of a harbour town

Located on the east coast of Kefalonia, Sami is most famous for being the main filming location for the book-turned-blockbuster-film ‘Captain Corelli’s Mandolin’. As you might expect, Sami holidays are a brilliant blend of good looks and relaxation. Antisamos Beach – the island’s famous bay made up of a white-pebble beach and turquoise water backed by pine trees – is just 4 kilometres away and was also used in the film.

Meanwhile, the Melissani Cave and various tranquil hiking trails are all located nearby. Sami has the second-biggest port on the island, and there’s plenty of buzz about the harbour area. On holidays to Sami you can try local dishes in one of the bougainvillea-draped tavernas, enjoy a coffee at one of the cafés or sip cocktails in one of the breezy outside bars. It’s the perfect place to lose an hour or two as you watch the yachts bobbing on the water and people passing by.
