Ionis Hotel

"Another very enjoyable stay at such a friendly clean hotel. The owners always there at hand for any requirements you may need during your stay. We usually hire a car for part of our stay (easily arranged with Ace Car Hire through the Hotel) so as to explore fabulous Kefalonia & visit some of the many restaurants dotted around Peratata. If you are happy to just chill by the lovely pool and enjoy the reasonably priced snacks & drinks from the pool bar by Virginia & enjoy the peace and quiet, a car is not essential, with a grill house, & open all hour supermarket within 200 yds of hotel. There’s also a sell everything superstore turn left 300 or so yds away ( well worth a browse) or turn right and find ‘The Cosi Café , a quaint Taverna complete with beer garden & lovely ice cold drinks, keep going & you’ll arrive at the most fab bakery (coffee shop) a must visit. So Peratata, yes a quiet, old village with Hotel Ionis as its focal point situated below the famous castle is to us one of our favourite places to chill & relax. No loud music, not much there for kiddies or young families but a place to meet new friends and enjoy the welcome from Ilias, Peri & team, we certainly hope to return next year. "We have just returned from a family holiday to Kefalonia and stayed at this amazing hotel in Peretata, (22nd-29th July). The reviews we read before we arrived spoke of the fantastic care and attention that the hotel owners and staff devote to the hotel and making holidays the best they possibly can be for guests. We found this to be absolutely true! We were warmly welcomed and helped significantly throughout our stay. Llias assisted us with booking trips, transport and with local knowledge. We cannot fault the hotel staff who were all very kind and gave us a lovely welcome. The hotel itself had everything we needed to make a perfect family holiday. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was ideal for our 2 boys (19 and 16) and the other room for us, along with kitchen/diner, balcony and bathroom.. Housekeeping maintained spotless cleaning and laundry. The setting itself is lovely, with glorious view of St George’s Castle and quiet, peaceful pool area, making for a traditional Greek experience. Local restaurants were very reasonably priced and food was amazing. Food from the hotel at breakfast and from the pool bar also delicious. Llias and his Peri were constantly (and we mean constantly!) working to make everybody’s stay perfect. We wonder when they get a chance to relax themselves! Cleanliness is excellent and the food and pool setting absolutely fantastic. We will definitely be returning. Special mention for Virginia who staffed the pool bar who was extremely friendly and we enjoyed chatting with her…..a really lovely lady. Make sure you sign up for the Thursday home cooked (and delicious) Moussaka and meatballs, with a great quiz to top off the evening (which we won!) which the hotel guests enjoyed. We will be back! "Myself and my friend have just returned from a week's break at the ionis hotel, we had a great relaxing week, rooms are basic but towels and bedding are changed daily, hotel and pool are spotless clean, the owners are great at helping to book transport and excursions for you, Argostoli (this is a stunning place and the turtles are a must see) is a 15 mins drive/bus run, only 1 bus a day or a taxi can be booked to take you in the evening, we spent 1 evening and 1 morning/afternoon here and had the best time, we also done a boat excursion that the owner Peri helped to book for us, this is a must to explore the beautiful Island, we also met amazing couples and had some belly laughs at night at the pool bar, there are also some beautiful stray cat families ( who we adopted and fed day/night), the only thing missing is a bar outside of the hotel for some nighttime entertainment,.we would definitely go back for a relaxing week away x"
