Self-catering stay with a view
Located in a pocket-sized village in one of the greenest areas in Kefalonia, the Stefanos Studios make the perfect peaceful base for a getaway.
Set in Lourdata and overlooking a beautiful bay, a stay here will put you just a stone’s throw from the sea and an impressive two-kilometre-long stretch of sand. You can also use the pool at the sister hotel, Saolas Studios, which is around a 20-minute stroll away.
Each apartment and studio is set up for self-catering with a fully-equipped kitchenette, so you can cook whatever you fancy. You’ll find a shop within a 10-minute wander if you need supplies. And if you prefer to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and tavernas along the seafront and in the centre of Lourdata.

Great location, basic accommodation. Terrible mattress. Inconsiderate and rude staff
"We stayed at Stefanos Studios mid September. These are the negatives: On arrival, the studios were in darkness. No reception or anyone to meet us. After roaming around for around 10 mins, I found a white board with our name written with our room number. Shame the outside light wasn't left on for us as we would have spotted this straight away. Apartment was spacious and very basic. Not a problem for us as we've been to similar accommodation on other Greek islands. Mattress was horrendous, old and you can feel the springs coming through. We had a terrible night's sleep. Tina (housekeeper/manager) arrived next morning for our tourist tax. I mentioned the mattress and she arranged for the cleaner to put a thick blanket on top of the mattress. I hoped this would improve somewhat but it didn't. We noticed there were spare camp beds under the double. The mattresses were firm and hardly used. My husband and thought we would swap the mattresses over. On stripping off the bedding I was disgusted to see the condition of the mattress. It was stained with urine and blood. We showed this to Tina when she arrived. There was no apology, just a remark that we would need to leave it propped up against the wall in the accommodation as there was nowhere to store it. Totally unacceptable so I phoned TUI to inform them of the issue. Tina arrived back again the next morning with an attitude asking why didn't I tell her that we wanted to move? She offered us another apartment, but we wanted to check the condition of the mattress before agreeing to move. We would rather stay on the camp bed mattresses. Within an hour, Tina and the cleaner arrive through theh patio door with a new mattress from the sister hotel. No conversation with us prior. Anyway we had a result. The apartments are kept clean however if your staying on the ground floor, beware that the cleaner will appear around 9am, talking very loudly on her phone. She many times walked straight into the apartment from the patio, without knocking or using the front door that has a doorbell. She walked in on me twice whilst I was getting dressed. The positives: Location of the apartment the beach is superb. The local restaurants we tried were amazing! Our favourites were Lovidis, Klimatis, Sunset Bar and the local hotel up the hill La Signora which was outstanding. We loved the Lourdata but unfortunately we would not return to Stefanos Studios."
Beautiful
"Beautiful rooms. We had room 1 with a lovely Seaview. Lovely and spacious. Great kitchen area with breakfast bar. Basic utensils and pans but still cooked up a few meals. Great size fridge freezer. Founds beds comfy and was good to have 2 pillows. Good shower probably one of the best. Lovely sitting on balcony of evening or for breakfast. Miss Tina was the perfect host especially for the lift up bank even though we walked it most days.We used the sister apartments pool couple of times saulos aswel. Rooms cleaned everyday by a hardworking lady. Area good location for beach however we do like to wander so walked long way round to kanili beach as it was quieter. Plus you pass the 77cafe its a most. We didn't go in all the resturants as they were so busy and you had to ring to make a booking which I can't be chewed with that we sometimes ate early or rustled up a storm in studios. Which suited us fine. Bar7 was great for snacks and drinks after a wander all day.sunset cafe was good aswell just a little busy for us. We ad a lovely meal in blue sea. Other times lovides but didnt feel as authentic and the wait time was extremely long. Over all another lovely holiday in lourdas."
A lovely place to stay, we will be back.
"Our second visit to Lourdas, but our first to the Stefanos Studios. It was a special birthday and they kindly accommodated us with a top floor, sea view room, with a crocodile towel arrangement and a mini bottle of champagne in it's mouth. The room was spacious and had everything you need. The room cleaned and bins emptied daily and bedding and towels changed every 3rd day. Tina the "hostess" came down from the Soulas apartments daily, to ensure all was ok. Our only gripe is that the bed was the noisiest, creakiest bed we've ever encountered. It seemed to creak even when we weren't moving 🤣 We regularly used the Sunset bar and their sunbeds on the beach and Maria, her family and staff always made us feel welcome, even providing us with rolls for our trip home. All the tavernas/restaurants are really good and not a bad meal had. Our favourites were Lordas Mare for it's traditional aspects and Lovidis for the great staff as well as food. They will even cook you a chicken curry if asked. Although there was nothing wrong with it, our least favourite was the Blue Sea as it was very basic. We did the TUI Azure boat trip and had a wonderful time. The crew made you most welcome, wine and water were free and the lunch of Kefalonia pie was delicious. It included 3 swim stops and they provided snorkeling equipment, paddle boards and noodle floats. All in all my husband and I had a fantastic holiday 🥰"
