Karavados Holidays

A pretty, peaceful Greek village

Karavados holidays present the perfect opportunity to embrace the peace and quiet of the Kefalonian countryside. This small village is in the south of the island, at the foot of Mount Ainos, and its pine-covered slopes are a handy 15-minute drive from both the capital, Argostoli, and the airport. You’ll get to experience daily life in a traditional Greek village, with its little red church, clutch of pretty tavernas and tree-lined country lanes.

Of course, you don’t visit Kefalonia without making a trip to the beach, and the buttery sands of Agios Thomas are within easy reach. Here, you’ll have your pick of sunbathing spots, from lively stretches to more secluded coves if you follow the beach path. If you’re keen to see or do more, the fun resort town of Lassi is less than 20 minutes away by car – but you might well find that holidays to Karavados offer charms enough for a blissful break.

Karavados’ appeal is its tranquility, so picture yourself taking a stroll through orange groves and pine forests, people-watching in front of the tiny main church, and wandering down to the beach.
This is an excellent place to make your own fun, whether it’s building sandcastles and playing cards on the nearby beach or cycling along the quiet country lanes.
There are a handful of great traditional tavernas and you’re also a short drive from Argostoli, which is crammed with everything from seafood restaurants to souvlaki joints.
