"We had an amazing stay at Casa Afytos. The staff were all lovey, very friendly and helpful. If we return to Afytos then we would happily stay at Casa Afytos again.
Bed was huge and comfy, and the room was very clean. Shower was good - plenty of hot water and good pressure. Room had a fridge and a nespresso maker. We had a terrace area with a plunge pool. Unfortunately we couldn’t use the pool as much as we wanted, as it was in shade all day we found it very cold, but the area itself was lovely to sit out especially in the evenings before going out.
The rooms had air con and a safe with no extra charge. The village is a short easy walk away, plenty of bars and tavernas around. There are a few car parking spots - 2 at the front and 3 on the left hand side and then some off road parking and a public car park a few meters down… but be careful if you return in the evening as the village gets very busy and parking gets full.
Breakfast is a basic continental but nice.
The breakfast area doubles up as the pool bar - bottled beer is sold in the day time but we didn’t buy any food and drink as we wandered into the village for lunch and tended to just have beer from our room on our terrace.
We were put in touch with a car hire company, the car was great, fairly priced and we found it really helpful, saving us the stress of trying to find a company ourselves.
I read in earlier reviews that there was a gym - I didn’t know about that while we were there, nobody mentioned it and we didn’t see it. I also read about noise from a play park, the park is across the road but we didn’t hear it at all. I could imagine it could be heard by the room at the front of the site but even then it’s only open in the evenings .
There are some areas we felt would have improved the stay (but none of this would stop us from returning):
- storage space. There is a small rack for hanging clothes and not many hangers (we always bring spares so it was ok) but there are no drawers at all, so nowhere to put underwear and bits and bobs. This made the room feel a bit messy at times - even if the bedside tables could be changed to ones with drawers it would be a help.
- sunbed wars. There aren’t enough as the pool area is quite small. Some beds were being reserved from 10pm the night before… I don’t think there is enough space to add more beds, but reserving shouldn’t be allowed until a reasonable time in the morning.
We had a really lovely stay and holiday, very relaxed and chilled which was exactly what we needed to recharge our batteries. We loved the adult only element too - calm and peaceful."
