Apollon Hotel Apartments

"We've just returned from a fantastic week here at the Apollon. It has a really relaxing atmosphere and the staff can't do enough for you. From the minute we walked in and were taken to our room by Eva we were totally relaxed. Carmen looks after the pool bar during the day and is a font of local knowledge, a really lovely lady. Vasilis takes over in the evening and looks after you well. The apartments are clean and tidy and there is a supermarket nearby. You don't really need to leave the apartments at all, but if you do, there are plenty of local tavernas within easy walking distance and Rethymnon is a short ride away by bus or taxi . This is an ideal place to relax and enjoy Crete, we will definitely be going back."

"Did not go in peak season so take from review what you will. Also did not spend much time at the pool or the hotel. Cannot comment on the hotels food services etc as we did not eat there and was out most days but I'll list opinions below if you're considering booking here. Pros *Not far from main strip and beach-10-15 min walk *15 minute journey in taxi to Rethmino -front desk staff will help you order a taxi if you ask *Room was clean *Lidl close by for supplies *Bathroom was cleaned regular Cons *Wi FI did not work for us *1 Kettle a fridge and a 2 ring electric hob was your whole kitchen setup so if you want some toast for breakfast you better get your frying pan out-Also get something to clean your utensils and plates from Lidl *Beds pretty hard and uncomfortable *Air con is 6 euro per night- it is stated I believe when you book but if you're not aware it will be an extra cost on you holiday because you WILL need it- Ours also made a sound one night where it sounded like a fighter jet taking off but settled after a few hours. *Not the hotels fault this one but you should be aware- The apartments on the side we stayed overlook some locals houses/apartments and they are very very noisy. most have dogs that you listen to barking morning/night or when anybody walks by them or visits the families living there so don't expect a nice scenic view or any quiet time on you balcony. There is also a few farmyards it seems round there and the rooster will have you up at the crack of dawn :) * On your arrival to your room, if your in the middle of the night like we were you will be given a key to your room and left to your devices with minimal information. Beware the welcome pack trap when you arrive at your room-You will see a bottle of water-2x tea bags-2 x coffee sachets- some sugar- some cracker biscuit things and some sliced cheese in the fridge. This is not for you to touch unless you want to pay an 8 euro charge. If you can resist the urge after your travel you can take it all back in a bag to reception and get the same for a lot cheaper at the lidl the next day. You may be tired and wanting something to drink and think its a nice gesture but you touch any of it any you pay for all of it. *TV was temperamental and a lot of the time you will end up turning it off. *Safe was not included also. There is an extra charge for using it"

"Sorry for the late review but I had to write about these great apartments we had a very relaxing 10 days here in September and the staff were fantastic please ignore the bad reviews and book and enjoy the apartments Carmen and Vassilis behind the bar were brilliant as was everyone else who worked there highly recommended apartments also within 200 yards of the apartments were three very good restaurants"
