"My family of three stayed at Stella Blue for a week over the UK Easter holidays (end of March into early April). Overall, the hotel is very nice, with a modern feel and a lot to like, including the amazing staff! though there are a few areas where small improvements would make a big difference.
The rooms are stylish and well-presented, but we did find storage a little limited. Aside from hanging space, there wasn’t really anywhere to put folded clothes, so we ended up keeping some items in our suitcases on the floor, which wasn’t ideal for a full week’s stay.
As we were visiting early in the season, only one bar was open in the evenings. This did lead to some longer queues at times, which was a little disappointing. That said, the staff were fantastic—friendly, hardworking, and doing their best under pressure—it just felt like they could have done with a bit more support. Drinks on the all-inclusive package were unbranded, with branded options available at an extra cost. The drinks themselves were enjoyable, if on the lighter side, which suited us just fine.
The food was fresh and of a good standard throughout our stay. Breakfast offered plenty of choice, including omelettes, crepes, and fresh orange juice. Lunch and dinner were built around a consistent selection, with different dishes rotated in each day. There were also live cooking stations—fresh pasta was a regular, alongside themed options like sushi or mini roasts. As it was early season, there weren’t any themed nights during our visit. At dinner there was also very often queue to be seated which we did not experience at other times.
We also tried the à la carte restaurant one evening, which was a highlight—the food was excellent, and the service was particularly warm and attentive. Because the main restaurant menus at lunch and dinner shared a similar base, we often chose the snack bar for lunch instead. This worked really well for us, as it helped keep dinner feeling more varied. The snack bar being made-to-order was actually a pleasant surprise and worked much better than the typical self-service approach.
As we travelled over the Easter holidays, we did expect a bit more of a family presence. Our son is 12 and fairly independent, but there didn’t seem to be many children around his age during our stay. As a result, he didn’t enjoy it as much as some of our other holidays, simply because there wasn’t the opportunity to socialise or make friends.
The overall atmosphere felt more adult-focused and relaxed, which is lovely in its own right, but it did mean he felt a little out of place at times. We often chose to spend time at the beach rather than the pool, as the pool areas were generally quite calm, with most guests looking to unwind rather than having a more active or playful environment.
We had also expected to make use of the tennis courts and sports facilities, but these weren’t available during our stay. The alternative was to use facilities at a neighbouring resort for an additional charge, which wasn’t quite what we had anticipated.
The location itself is peaceful and scenic, with a quiet, laid-back feel. There is a small area within walking distance with a few shops and bars. The nearest old town is a straightforward taxi ride away and reasonably priced (around €12–€15 each way), and there are some lovely walks along the beach front.
If you’re looking for a very stylish, Instagram-worthy setting, this hotel certainly delivers. However, it’s probably best suited to adults or families with older children. I would also say that if you’re travelling at the very start or end of the season, it’s worth being aware that not all facilities may be fully open. Equally, in peak summer, it may feel quite busy given the layout and availability of spaces."
