St George South Holidays

If you’re in need of some rest and relaxation and you’re searching for a place where you can really switch off, look no further. Everything moves at a more chilled out pace in St George South – a laidback spot on Corfu’s southwest coast.

The town comes with a selection of bars, cafes and tavernas on its pretty waterfront, not to mention two spectacular stretches of sand. The beaches are a pretty pair – one is backed by dunes while the other is tucked between impressive sandstone cliffs. Nature has been working its magic on the outskirts of the town, too. The landscape surrounding St George South is blanketed by olive groves, freckled with just a handful of pocket-sized villages.

St George South makes a great base for daytrips, too. You’ll find a Byzantine fort within a 10-minute drive, and you can be in Corfu Town – the island’s capital – in just over half an hour. This modern capital has a hefty to-do list. You can shop ‘til you drop, wander through the UNESCO-listed old town or soak up the atmosphere in one of the lively squares. It’s all in a day’s work…

Your St George South questions, answered

St George South is perfect for a summer escape – you’re all but guaranteed good weather in June, July and August. Expect toasty temperatures in the early 30s, and 12 hours of glorious sun a day.

You’ll find a string of restaurants on the seafront. Most specialise in Greek cuisine and plenty of fresh seafood. There are vegetarian, British and Italian eateries on offer, too.

In this quiet spot, a night on the town means an evening spent in one of the bars or restaurants sampling the local food and wine to the soundtrack of live music. And the odd pub quiz or karaoke night!
