Agios Ioannis Holidays

Peaceful Ionian escape

Looking for a quiet island getaway? The resort of Agios Ioannis could be exactly what you’re after. It offers a slice of tranquillity, away from the hustle and bustle of busier parts of Corfu. Between the lush green landscape, the Blue Flag beaches, and the local charm, you’ll be hard pushed to find a more relaxing way to spend a week (or two).

If you’re up for a bit of exploring, there are plenty of discoveries to be made here. There are pretty villages dotted across the landscape, walking trails through the mountains, and private coves waiting to be uncovered. If you’re looking to make a splash, you’re in luck – the region is home to one of Europe’s largest water parks.

Stick around the local area or get out and see the rest of the island – the choice is yours. Corfu’s main town is about a 30-minute drive north. Here you’ll find plenty of shops, great food, and a livelier atmosphere.

The region is a bit on the sleepier side, but still has great tavernas and bars to choose from. It’s less touristy than other parts of the island, so you’ll be living like a local. For seeing what the rest of Corfu has to offer, a car can be useful. Corfu Town is about a 30-minute drive to the north.
Expect traditional Corfu cuisine made with fresh local produce – plenty of seafood, traditional meat dishes, and special sweet treats and tarts. Look out for delicacies made with kumquat. It’s the unofficial national fruit of the island and comes in all forms.
