"We had an amazing stay at Ella Alkyna in Agios Gordios. The location is simply breathtaking, perched above the beautiful coastline with spectacular views of the Ionian Sea and unforgettable sunsets. The hotel has a modern, luxurious feel throughout, and the adults-only atmosphere makes it perfect for a relaxing getaway. Our room was stylish, comfortable, and impeccably clean, with stunning sea views that made every morning special. The pool areas and private beach access were excellent, offering plenty of opportunities to unwind and enjoy the scenery. Guests frequently praise the resort's cliffside setting, modern facilities, and beautiful pools. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, making us feel valued throughout our stay. The food was varied and delicious, with several dining options available and plenty of local flavours to enjoy. The overall atmosphere was peaceful, elegant, and perfect for a memorable holiday."

"We had a fantastic stay at Alkyna Hotel in Corfu and would highly recommend it. The food was absolutely amazing, with a wide variety of choice at every meal and many fantastic Mediterranean options to choose from. We also had a meal in the NAFS restaurant, which was well worth visiting too, with a very high standard of food and service. The staff were lovely, friendly, and always helpful, which really made the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel itself was very clean and well-maintained throughout. The hotel is set on steep hills, but it is absolutely worth it for the amazing location and breathtaking views and stunning sunsets, which create such a relaxing atmosphere. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants on site, so you’re never short of places to eat, drink, and unwind. We took a trip to Paleokastritsa, where we hired a self-drive boat for a few hours, which was definitely worth doing and a real highlight of our visit. We would also highly recommend spending some time in the restaurants and bars of Agios Gordis to experience a more authentic side of Greece. The locals are incredibly welcoming and friendly, which really adds to the charm of the area. We’re not sure why there have been negative reviews, as we had absolutely nothing to complain about and loved every minute of our stay. Overall, a wonderful hotel with great food, beautiful surroundings, and excellent service. We can't wait to return."

"While there were some positives to our stay, overall we were disappointed due to a number of maintenance, cleanliness and service issues. The most serious problem was sewage-smelling water flooding into our bathroom from the drain. Unfortunately, the response from reception was unhelpful and at times rude, and communication between departments appeared very poor. Despite reporting the issue, maintenance and housekeeping repeatedly failed to attend after being contacted. Separate from this, there were also service issues elsewhere in the hotel, with drinks orders sometimes being forgotten altogether and other times being delivered twice. The hotel itself has some good features. Rooms were cleaned daily to a good standard, bottled water was replenished each day, the minibar was restocked appropriately, restaurant staff were efficient at clearing tables, the beach was clean with a dedicated area for Ella Alkyna guests, and the sea views from the restaurants were excellent. The cocktails in the lobby bar were also very good. However, there were numerous frustrations throughout our stay. A strong sewage smell was noticeable around the hotel grounds, the buffet area felt cramped for a hotel of this size, and sun loungers were virtually impossible to obtain unless you were up before 6am. Although the hotel states that reserving loungers with towels is not permitted, this rule was not enforced. The layout of the resort may also be challenging for some guests, as the pools, beach, restaurants, rooms and reception are spread across different levels connected by very steep inclines. Another disappointment was the spa policy. Although we fully expected that treatments and other premium spa services would incur an additional charge, we were surprised to discover that access to the indoor pool, sauna and steam room was also chargeable, despite staying on an all-inclusive package. While we understand that spa treatments are typically excluded, charging guests extra to use these basic wellness facilities felt unreasonable and was not what we expected from a hotel of this standard. We have stayed at numerous five-star resorts, including several on the Greek islands, and have never previously encountered a situation where guests on an all-inclusive package were required to pay extra to access facilities such as the indoor pool, sauna and steam room. Our room suffered from several maintenance issues, including an empty shampoo dispenser, unreliable Wi-Fi, flickering bathroom lights, a constantly clicking PIR sensor, a permanently illuminated telephone display, and an extremely bright flashing light on the smoke detector that lit up the room at night. To make matters worse, noisy maintenance work involving an angle grinder was being carried out after 10pm. Overall, while the hotel has some attractive features and hardworking staff in certain areas, the recurring maintenance problems, poor communication, inconsistent customer service and lack of attention to guest concerns meant the experience fell well below expectations."
