The Westin Hamburg

"Modern hotel in the top of the Elbphilharmonie building. The location is great, the center of town is about a 20 minutes walk. The view from the large windows in our room was phantastic, we had the partial harbour view from the top floor, could see both the harbour and downtown. The room was well equipped, modern, with walk-in shower and bath. I found the bed very comfortable. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. We used the parking garage underneath the building, and could charge our car there, very convenient. We did not take the breakfast in the hotel. We thought it was pretty expensive, and there are plenty of nice options a short walk away."

"First, we ordered a dessert through room service, and when it arrived, it looked disturbed on all sides — crumbs and garnish scattered around the plate in a way that gave the strong impression the item had already been handled before reaching our room. I’ve attached photos so others can judge for themselves. Not what you expect from a hotel at this price point. Second, we requested water be brought to the room and it simply never arrived. When we raised it, the response from staff felt dismissive rather than apologetic. We reached out to hotel management directly with a formal complaint and photos, we have not received any response. For a Westin property, I expected a much higher standard of both food handling and guest service, as well as basic acknowledgment when a guest raises a legitimate concern. Would not recommend based on this experience."
