The Westin Hamburg

"We were at this hotel for one night and had booked a room with a view of the Elbe. The room is comfortably large and has a separate bathroom with a tub and shower. Unfortunately, it was a bit warm in the room upon arrival. There is a Nespresso machine with 3 capsules and a complimentary bottle of mineral water in the room. The amenities are very good and also feature attention to detail in the furniture, etc. The room also includes an ironing board and an iron, likely because some people go directly from here to the concert at the Elphi. You can reach the Elphi Plaza directly through a revolving door from the reception (8th floor). That is very convenient! Special feature: due to the window construction (some windows curve outward), there is a larger mirrored "post" between the two floor-to-ceiling windows. In this there is a small flap that you can open for fresh air. On the ground floor by the elevators to the reception, there is a concierge where you can also store your suitcases."

"The Elbphilharmonie is THE landmark of Hamburg - and The Westin occupies a location within it that is hard to beat. From the first contact during booking to check-in and the entire infrastructure, the hotel is impressive across the board. The reception is exceptionally friendly, the rooms are spotlessly clean, and the entire ambiance is just right. The breakfast is varied and is accompanied by extremely attentive service. A special experience is the view from the 18th floor over the Hamburg harbor - simply magnificent! Anyone who treats themselves to this stay should definitely choose the Premium Guest Room, 1 King, Water View room category. This view makes the difference! A special compliment goes to the concierge Christian Beck: A concierge in a class of his own! Even before our stay, he reserved the desired three-star restaurants for us and enriched our days in Hamburg with valuable recommendations and thoughtful suggestions. Such personal commitment goes far beyond what is expected and makes a stay something special. Conclusion: An exceptional hotel in a unique location - we would love to come back!"

"I travel regularly to Hamburg and thought I would try a night at the Westin with a view to have an alternative option as Hamburg hotels get very busy at certain times of year with exhibitions and events. I was very excited to experience it . Immediately after entering the hotel lobby you could sense the blandness of design filled with a low negative energy that the building seems to exude a sense of doom despite being light and open in structure. The staff were on edge and clearly aware of the issues The room was a bigger disappointment bearing in mind this establishment is supposedly 5 star? It reminded me of the ibis in Hamburg which is a budget hotel. Also reminiscent of the Radison blu at Airport. It’s a shame such a great location is being wasted by this hotel . Truly awful interior design fit and finish low quality appliances tv had an awfully grainy picture. Cheapest Grohe bathroom fittings The bed however was fabulously comfortable and one of best I have slept in. I also had room service banging on door from 8.30 am as mentioned in other reviews constantly trying to open door despite checkout at 12am ,do not disturb sign hung and door locked from inside fortunately or unfortunately I was not naked or afraid. The blick bar staff were however fabulous with great cocktails and free flowing nuts to nibble on There are many other great hotels in Hamburg with genuinely authentic staff. A big disappointment. I so wanted to be impressed and have a new option in Hamburg. Hopefully things will improve and I can post a glowing 5 star review in future Kind regards"
