SIR Nikolai

"We spent four nights in the Nikolai. We had a suite which was great for the longer stay. The desk staff were great. The helpers during breakfast were great. Our bartender Fernanda was our favorite. Very friendly and we didn’t get to say goodbye because she was off on our last evening. The breakfast had all you could want. The linens were good with a warm duvet. Big fluffy towels. My only complaints were the fact that the refrigerator for the mini bar drinks didn’t have enough room for the bottle of San Pellegrino water they left for us. It loses a lot at room temperature. And the pillows were very small and very loosely packed. Like having no pillow at all. I would come back. To the management. Please fix the cold San Pellegrino problem and get puffier pillows."

"This was by far our favorite hotel during our Sweden/Germany/Denmark trip. First, Dennis at the front desk was incredibly helpful in so many ways. He gave us a great dinner recommendation on our first night for some traditional German food and allowed us to keep leftovers in the hotel's kitchen since our fridge was not cooling much. Another staff member who was working on one night that Dennis was not was much less helpful as he firmly pushed us to go to a restaurant that was the opposite of what we wanted (clearly a kickback). After wandering around despite already being very tired we ended up coming back and eating our leftovers. The room was fantastic. It was so much bigger and brighter than any of the others where we stayed. There was plenty of room to lounge, store your belongings, work if needed, and relax. And the room was right over the canal, which you could see from the windows that were about waist high, went to the ceiling, and opened. The blackout curtains were perfect and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has some drinks and delicious truffles in the lobby at all times. The sauna was lovely. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. We loved sitting at the tables right by the big windows looking over the water. The location of the hotel is also very good and walkable to so many attractions. Bar/restaurant staff were so friendly. The desserts were surprisingly good too. We would not hesitate to stay here again!"

"Our Nikolai Supreme room was clean, spacious, and nicely furnished, and the beds were very comfortable. If you look closely, however, you can see that the room has already hosted a guest or two. In some places, there are signs of wear that slightly diminish the good impression. The breakfast the next morning was a mix of à la carte ordering and a buffet. The service was uncomplicated and fast, and the food was very, very delicious from both the buffet and the menu. Conclusion: A very nice city hotel in a good location, with a great breakfast, nice rooms, and a lot of attention to special occasions. The signs of wear in the room prevent a perfect score, but they do not diminish our good overall impression."
