Movenpick Hotel Hamburg

"We stayed here for the Marathon weekend. We checked in online starting that we were arriving between noon and 3pm. We were able to get the key on arrival about 12:30, despite official check in being 3pm. The room is a good size, with great views from the 13th floor. The decor is pretty generic hotel decor, I do think more could be done to theme the rooms in keeping with the water tower. Some of the furniture was a bit worn and the air conditioning didn't work (which we only found out as we got ready for bed), we could tilt open the windows, but being in the roof area there was a second layer of louvered glass that somewhat restricted air flow. We reported the air conditioning at breakfast and a floor standing fan was placed in our room in the afternoon. We hadn't booked for the restaurant, and unfortunately this was fully booked for the Saturday and closed on the Sunday (not experienced this in other Hamburg hotels). The bar didn't serve food, and unfortunately Chocolate Hour is not at the weekends. Breakfast was very good. We were lucky to find a parking bay available in the cellar car park, as packing is extremely limited at this sight. Due to the air conditioning problems, the hotel gave us free packing as compensation, which was appreciated. We may stay here again, but there are other options in Hamburg that are just as good."

"I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at this hotel with my husband and we both would highly recommend it. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and relaxing. From the moment you arrive, you feel comfortable thanks to the tasteful design and calm surroundings. The rooms are modern, comfortable, and well-equipped. I was especially impressed by how cozy the beds are—perfect for a restful night’s sleep. The value for money is excellent. You receive high-quality service and amenities at a very reasonable price. Cleanliness is outstanding throughout the hotel. Both the rooms and the common areas are consistently well-maintained and spotless. The hotel is pleasantly quiet. It’s easy to relax without being disturbed by noise. The staff are exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful. Any requests are handled quickly and efficiently, making the stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious. The hotel offers a great range of amenities. From practical essentials to thoughtful extras, everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided. Overall, it was a nice hotel experience - I would gladly return!"

"Perfectly located just beside the UBahn, but kind of a scary unpleassant area, I wont recommend the area if you are traveling alone, to many spooky people. Hotel is a perfect theme, and you really feel that its in an old watertower. Rooms are cosy, breakfast is perfect, even a cook who can povide you with fresh omelets, then why only 3 "Stars", could you ask. Because the reception who is the face of the hotel, the first thing you meet as a guest, are on a very very low level. Very little information given, normally you are giving the basic as guest, check-out, breakfast is from /to, but nothing. No information that you needed a coin to get out of parking, had to find out myself. I have had much better service at low level hotels Restaurant is okay, but be aware of that if the run out of some sides, they just change it without asking, we had our potatoes with onions changed to french fries, so again there the service level could be much higher. With a better and more infomative reception staff and restaurant staff, this hotel could be a 5 star."
