Mercure Paris CDG Airport & Convention

"My recent stay at the Mercure Hotel at CDG was incredibly disappointing. The entire property feels deeply neglected, and the overall atmosphere is just plain depressing. First Impressions & Exterior The poor experience started before I even walked through the doors. The external entryway was dirty and littered with general garbage and countless cigarette butts on the ground. There were unkept tables sitting outside with dirty espresso cups left behind, making it very clear that basic maintenance is not a priority here. Interior & Cleanliness The building itself is tired, old, and in desperate need of an overhaul. This lack of care extends to almost every surface: The furniture is old, dated, and heavily scuffed. The walls are noticeably dirty throughout the property. The elevators, particularly the sidings on the 5th floor, are covered in grime from what looks like years of heavy use without any proper, deep cleaning. The carpets are in an abysmal state. You can clearly see years of accumulated dirt along the walls, borders, and right up against the doors, mixed in with random dirty spots and unsightly bleach stains. Dining The food itself for dinner was just "ok," but the ambiance ruined any chance of enjoying the meal. I was seated at a table looking out a window that showcased nothing but a pile of rocks and a broken sculpture. It was a bleak view that perfectly encapsulated the vibe of the entire hotel. Verdict Between the sheer lack of cleanliness and the dilapidated state of the building, I cannot recommend this hotel. It was a depressing stay, and management needs to seriously invest in a deep-cleaning crew and a massive renovation."

"We had an excellent welcome from a young lady called Lucha. She was very pleasant and even took time to show us where the lifts were. It was one of the warmest welcomes I’ve ever had at any hotel and I wanted to mention her specifically. However not everything about the hotel is as good. Location is not ideal. On a map it looks close to the CDG Val shuttle but it’s actually a good 10-15 minutes’ walk and most of it is in the open air. It feels too long with heavy luggage and it would be very unpleasant in heavy rain. If you get a taxi here then it’s not so bad, but then you’d have to pay for another taxi on departure if you want to avoid the shuttle. One good thing is that the shuttle is free, frequent and fast. The hotel building itself is 70s concrete style - I think it’s likely to be one of the first airport hotels built here. A good selling point is the airport runway views you get from a room on a high floor. The soundproofing of the room was perfect. The room was smallish but was kept perfectly clean and was quite comfy, with a fridge and aircon. The mattress was ok. Restaurant looked high quality but the prices are astronomical! Same for room service. See attached. We bought a sandwich from the airport shops at T3 but equally you could check out the restaurants in other hotels. BBC News seems to be the only English channel provided on the TV. We had stayed at the Radisson Blu when we arrived at the airport. To be honest, we thought that was a better hotel all round, with a more convenient location, and the price was also cheaper there when we checked a day or two beforehand. I would recommend the Radisson. However, this hotel isn’t such a bad choice. BEWARE - there are two Mercure hotels in the vicinity of the airport. This one is closer. Don’t get confused!"
