"Not a five-star hotel by any standard at best, I would rate it 2.5 stars. The only positive thing about it was the location. I do not recommend staying at this property. While the exterior is beautiful and the lobby appears ok, the experience completely changes once you enter the room. Despite being advertised as a five-star hotel, it is absolutely not one.
The rooms and hallways feature extremely old hardwood floors that creak loudly with every step. Walking across them feels like triggering a full symphony, and every movement in the hallway can be heard clearly inside the room. The walls are incredibly thin—it genuinely feels like you have roommates, as you can hear people in neighboring rooms even when they speak quietly. Relaxing after long hours of travel was impossible. None of this is shown or disclosed in the listing photos.
Cleanliness was another major issue. We encountered dirty floors, hair on the bedsheets, and overall poor housekeeping. On one occasion, we were downgraded, and on another day we returned to find the sink in an unhygienic condition, with internal sink components left out on the counter.
We made several attempts to resolve these issues directly with the owner but received no response, which is why we felt it was important to leave this review so other guests do not book with false expectations. Honestly, staying here felt like involuntary time travel to the 1800s. If that experience appeals to you, then this hotel may be a good fit for u apparently, the historic creaking floors are considered part of the charm. Just be aware that this “history” is not shown in the photos, according to management, nor are the paper-thin walls that make privacy nonexistent.
The only genuinely good service we experienced was from the concierge, who assisted with reservations and agreed with every complaint we raised and told us “please tell everything to our owner so he understands”. Breakfast was also very poor. Photos will be included, and I wish videos could be added so future guests could hear the noise levels for themselves."
