    Catacombes de Paris

    It might sound like something straight out of a horror film, but the Paris Catacombs are one of the city’s most-visited sights. While there are miles upon miles of tunnels that weave their way across the ground underneath modern Paris, just about one mile is open to the public. Descend into the ossuary and you’ll get a glimpse at the remains of some of the millions of Parisians that reside in the catacombs.

    Emerging like an oasis of green out of the metropolitan jungle, Jardin du Luxembourg with its picturesque ponds and quaint orchards is an idyllic place for an afternoon stroll. It’s home to a whole host of activities, too, from remote control boat racing and tennis to bridge and chess – just be sure to stay off the grass!

    In a city as vast as Paris, you’ll need to get to grips with the public transport system to make your way around. Luckily, you’ll have two different metro lines within walking distance, so you should be able to navigate your way across the city without too much trouble. Prefer to travel by bus? It’s a great way to see more of the city streets, and there’s a handy bus stop just a short mosey from the hotel.
