"My husband and I are currently staying here for two nights. Not happy at all for several reasons. Firstly, we checked in yesterday and took the lift (which was then working) up to our room on the 4th floor. The keypad did not recognise our code and I had to go back downstairs and obtain a key. The main light in the room did not work but maintenance thankfully fixed this. Today, our first full day, the only lift is out of order. This is concerning me greatly as we have two very heavy suitcases and other hand luggage ready for a cruise departing tomorrow. My husband is 78, had a stroke previously, and I have a bad back. I just do not know how we are going to manage tomorrow. Someone has meanwhile replaced the non functioning keypad on our door. The housekeeping has not materialised. Now 1.30 pm. I just walked down the four flights of stairs to get coffees from the machine in reception but this is not working either. So another walk up four flights of stairs for nothing. Hotel was not cheap. I am a Platinum Elite member with Marriott and have never experienced such shoddy accommodation from Marriott."

"The location of this hotel is perfect, there is a tram stop just over the road which gives you access to all the main areas of Nice. The hotel itself is a good concept, coffee and water facilities at the ground floor and you can grab your own towels and toilet rolls - which is handy. We had our room cleaned every day - free of charge, that was nice as from reading other reviews I thought there would be an additional charge for this. Although, we did stay 1 week. You can leave your bags and suitcases in the basement in lockers if your room isn’t ready, however please be aware there are only three large lockers to hold big suitcases, if these are full - you are limited. Luckily we got the last one when we arrived at 11:30am. There are smaller lockers above for bags, but you can’t put big suitcases in these. The restaurant just next door to the hotel is fab, excellent food and service. And a small bakery round the corner which we bought pastries at every morning before we went out exploring. We stayed in room 701 - really grateful for this room as it’s on the top floor and closest to the sea. The balconies on the top floor are HUGE - a great asset to the room. The room itself was tiny. You can barely fit round the bed and 1 week in this room was a struggle but we made it work. There was only one bed side table, and no wardrobes or drawers. We had to keep most things in the suitcase, and had a few hangers to hang clothes. The room was very very dusty, it didn’t feel the cleanest and we didn’t want to walk round bare foot or in socks. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept well. A little noise outside but this is expected if you are staying centrally of course. The bathroom was fine and big shower. The room was in dyer need for a re paint! Scuffs and marks everywhere, I don’t know why it has been left like this. It made the room feel even dirtier than it was because of all the scuffs and marks. It takes nothing to put the room out of service for a day to tidy it up again… overall we had a good experience. I probably wouldn’t stay again for a full week, but I would stay for 3/4 nights max. Room 701 really made our stay better as well with the large balcony on the top floor. The service was fine - nothing special but nothing to complain about. If you need peace and quiet to sleep, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. If you don’t mind the hustle and bustle and will be out exploring all day without a car, then I would highly recommend. The location was perfect."

"Unfortunately we had a very bad experience with our stay. The door to the room has nosound insulation at all, serious faults in the construction. The bed is just behind the door, extremely bed room planing. No privacy feeling at all. No relaxing possible - you can hear the service next to your bed from 8:00 am every day. Actually, there is a feeling, that you sleep in the corridor, without the door. The room was extremely small and uncomfortable, not as described by the booking process. Curtains very dirty. Only approximately 40 cm space from all bed sides available . Light in the bathroom is not enough for make up. Special request (honeymoon) ignored. Issues could not be solved during 3 days of the stay. Changing the room was not possible. The hotel is not recommended for couples and for all, who value privacy feeling. Our worst experience of the hotel room ever."
