"We were a bit early - but that wasn't a problem. In fact we were upgraded to an upper corner room with 3 windows offering a breathtaking view over the Herault river to the cathedral, which, along with the bridge, is beautifully illuminated at night. Just a few turns from the train station and you are at the hotel. it's a busy street during peak periods, but not quite as loud as the quacking ducks in the river or rowers practicing...all quite entertaining by the riverbank below. the modern windows cancel most sound anyway. Genuinely friendly owners who aim to please but knowing a little French helps the guest. They recommended dinner at the floating barge directly across the river (the admiral) and it was good advice. Looked expensive but was actually good value, tasty and personable. We returned and were glad it was so close. A noteworthy site nearby is the Canal Du Midi turnaround
with 3 spokes off it. Easy walk. From the nearby train station a bus takes you to Grau d'Agde, promenade, restaurants, beach and river mouth for the commercial fishery bordered by twin lights. Breakfast was spartan, but adequate. Loved the view from the room."
