"Gorgeous location but hotel is tired and past its best. Staff seem really switched off and from the comments made by employees at the restaurant, there are issues with retaining staff. When there are so many incredible hotels nearby, it’s difficult to see why guests should compromise on experience to stay here."

"We are longtime, loyal guests of this hotel group, and this stay has genuinely shocked us. Room Readiness: My parents arrived early and were told their booked room wasn't ready — understandable — but were moved into a different room that clearly hadn't been prepared for them. Noise: Far more seriously, my parents were kept awake into the early hours by a service door slamming repeatedly outside their room. Staff made no visible effort to keep noise down despite this being an obvious disturbance to paying guests. Petty Charges: My father asked for a small amount of milk for his tea in their room and was charged €24. For a hotel charging thousands of euros a night, nickel-and-diming guests on something this basic is frankly embarrassing. Our Own Stay Was Worse: We had to ask repeatedly just to get water to prepare our baby's bottle leaving him in distress. We were left stranded on a cold evening in Saint Tropez with a baby and our elderly dog because there was no staff available to collect us due to lack of employees. We experienced dangerous, reckless driving from one of the hotel's new drivers. Our 14-year-old dog was given nothing but a bath mat to sleep on despite the heafty additional charge for him to stay. There were no baby changing facilities available so we had to use a towel on the floor. Despite clearly stating I don't eat pork, it was served to me repeatedly at breakfast, and orders were wrong on multiple occasions with many other guests complaining. Staff: To be fair, many of the staff members we interacted with were personally pleasant but you would expect this at a several thousand pound a night hotel. The failures here are not about individual effort — they're systemic understaffing and a serious drop in standards. Bottom Line: This hotel markets itself as a luxury property, but the reality no longer matches the reputation or the price tag. As repeat guests who have stayed many times before, we left this visit appalled, and we hope management takes these failings seriously rather than dismissing them. It’s clear the owners of the group are complacent, arrogant and dismissive of real issues in their hospitality. We will certainly never stay in any of their hotels again."
