Fort Arabesque Adults Only

"Had a great holiday here in January 26 Hotel is fabulous with beautiful manicured grounds and great facilities. Food is good and plentiful although I found the quality to be variable. The beach front is magnificent with excellent snorkelling a few metres from your sunbed. Entertainment was ok but the theatre is feeling a little dated. The room however was excellent, roomy and well appointed. Compared with recent winter sun holidays in the Canaries, this trip offered great value for money. By far the highlight for me was the friendliness of the staff, they really can’t do enough for you and it was a pleasure to speak with them each day. A special mention must go to Ahmed from the spa who helped make our trip to Fort Arabesque such an enjoyable experience."

"I chose this resort as it was recommended to me by family who had stayed here a few times. I arrived late and was staying in the West Bay. Unfortunately the driver had dropped me off at the wrong reception . I was quickly checked in there and then taken to my room. I was really pleased with my room and well stocked fridge containing water, branded fizzy drinks, orange juice and milk. I was grateful to see milk, as I do love a cup of tea!! I found the bed very comfortable and pillows too. The cleaner attended daily and replenished the fridge. My room was always cleaned thoroughly. The food was plentiful and I enjoyed everything, especially the omelettes at breakfast, poached eggs made to order and plenty of fruit available. The Mexican food was delicious and I only went to the Greek restaurant for lunch one time. That was the only place where I had to wait quite some time to be served a drink - felt it may have been due to being on my own. Overall I found the staff in the west bay very helpful, friendly, hardworking and always with a smile. My favourite place during the day was the Jungle bar and pool. It was quiet and peaceful. Monica was so cheerful and always with a smile, whatever she was doing. Nothing ever too much trouble. The water was freezing in the pool but once you started swimming it was okay!! The beach was good too and never had a problem finding a sunbed. I was advised there was construction work going on during my stay, but didn’t notice anything!! I booked a trip to Cairo and requested a breakfast bag from reception. That was a very long day but worthwhile to see the pyramids. The new museum is also amazing. I didn’t bother much with the nightly entertainment . Overall I had a relaxing and enjoyable time at Fort Arabesque and never felt out of place as a solo traveller. Yes, a bit more expensive to travel solo, but better than staying home! Last but not least. The gardens are beautiful well maintained. A lot of effort goes on behind the scenes to make this place be the wonder it is. The staff are what makes this place whether you tip or not. I have booked to come back in November 2026 and I can’t wait!"

"I had read a lot of reviews and was not sure what to expect. I stayed in the west bay area and it is adult only (16+) the main resort is for families, adults, everyone basically and then there is the villas. The actual area and resort is gorgeous and well maintained. There was always staff attending to grounds, cleaning and watering grass etc. All most all of the staff are lovely and very friendly except the odd waiter/ bar staff. On arrival I arrived one day late due to my flight being cancelled and my original room booking was not available so they upgraded me to a suite. Not all the rooms have been renovated and the ones that have not been are dated and not the best. The suite i was given was old/ dated and i personally actually did not like it. The next day i was given the room i booked. I had booked sea view so i was given option of sea view which was a older dated room or side sea view but a newer renovated room. I choose side sea view as the room was newer and was a lot nicer. As it was January i was up early and out in the sun so the view did not really matter (sun sets at 5pm). All the rooms are very big. Again staff were very helpful with this. The person cleaning my room was the same for my entire stay, he was lovely and always stocked my drinks up for me. He never came the same time and on the final day asked what time i was leaving and was there two mins before i had to leave my room ready to clean it (slightly annoying but expected). There are lots of options to eat, with lots of food but i personally did not think the food was great. I would have preferred better quality over quantity. There is the main buffet in the west bay and the main area which are mostly the same except west bay has the mexican part and main the aisian part. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I found the food was more or less the exact same for the week i was there. The desserts were the same at lunch and dinner every day. There is a beach bar that does late breakfast mostly eggs and croissants. They do lunch it was same every day, small buffet of toasties, fries, wrap, salad etc. in evening it does a bbq that needs to be booked. Then there is the pizza place open 1-5 and does pasta and pizza, made to order. I found it awful, sloppy or burnt but the staff were lovely in it. Shame as it was made to order i expected it to be good but the pizza in buffet was a lot better. There is the greek restaurant which is actually all fish and needs booked. I do not eat fish so can not comment. Then there is the pavillian and the club 159 which you can only use if you are staying in the villas or pay to upgrade your all inclusive which is 45 euro pp per day. There are a lot of bars and the drinks taste different in each one. Service can be slow in the buffett and beach bar and sometimes not offered a drink at all. Sparking wine or processco is only available at extra charge about 33 euro per bottle. I am quite a cocktail expert and the cocktails were poor. I ended up sticking to same one entire time. There is also wine and beer and soft drinks and lots of bottled water. Staff hygiene is questionable. They seem to wear one glove and one bare hand a lot but do not change the glove. I witnessed staff cleaning tables etc then same glove make drinks touch ice with hands and garnish for cocktail. There are a lot of hidden extras which i had not realised when booking. Gym is 8 euro per day. Beach service is 12 euro per day where they reserve sunbeds and give some drinks in a ice box. Most of the sunbeds are booked up in this way so can be difficult to find a bed but is doable. There is a bar right next to beach so no need really. There is premium all inclusive which is 45 euro per day which includes the beach service, gym and access to pavilion and the club 159 but you have to sign up for a minimum of three days. The beach is very good for snorkelling. There is also a pathway along the beach which goes past all the resorts and you can walk along. There are security huts at each hotel but i did read that they will stop you at night. I only went during the day no issues. Entertainment was questionable. It said there was a fitness class every day at 4pm on a timetable and when i asked about it they said it was not on yet on my last day i saw there was a step class. There was no communication about what entertainment was on etc and what i saw was not great. There are a few shops. Very expensive. They told me a bag crisps and packet haribo was around £6 so i did not buy and went to a different shop belonging to one the other hotels on the beach pathway."
